Saturday 11th April 2026 was full of excitement as we cheered on the horses in the Grand National! 🐎

Whilst we waited for the race to start, residents got creative by designing their own jockey kits! 🎨

Residents and the team then joined in the fun with a sweepstake (just for fun with prizes, no money involved), before gathering in our cinema room to watch the race on the big screen. The afternoon was made even more special with delicious afternoon tea and a few celebratory bubbles. 🫖🥂

John was absolutely over the moon when *I Am Maximus*, the horse he picked from the sweepstake hat, galloped to victory! 🎉

Thursday 9th April
Today's weather was for sure a drop in temperature compared to yesterday, Although that didn’t ruin our planned trip out with Kathy and Harry to our local pub,
We love visiting The Empress. We had been hoping for sunshine and an ice-cold drink, sitting in their fabulous garden—which is perfect for wheelchair users, whilst watching the world go by. We was welcomed with open arms so we headed inside and sat by the window, where the Granby can be seen clearly through the window. We shared conversations, memories, and enjoyed a cold drink together whilst keeping warm ☀️🍺

We have six healthy chicks, Lydia has spent the morning teaching them to drink and eat. We have three show offs who have been in and out of their feed teaching the other chicks what to do. They have a day of training today then we will be having lots of cuddles with our little fluff! 🐥🐣🐤
