⛑️SAFETY FIRST🛟
Last week we spent the day training with at ❄️🔥
The session covered everything from stress physiology and cold/heat exposure, to taking a trauma-informed approach to contrast therapy. We dug into cold water shock responses, how the nervous system behaves under stress, first-aid basics, and what to look out for in both cold and heat. We also spent time on recovery, red flags, and the importance of staff presence and awareness in these environments.
Big takeaway is that the breath is the difference between panic and control – and when you understand what your body is doing, both the cold and the heat become a lot less intimidating.
Safety is paramount in this kind of setting, and it’s something we take seriously at CBP – so people can experience the benefits of sauna and cold water therapy knowing it’s being done in a calm, informed and safe environment.
Kevin from is one of the leading authorities in the country on this topic – if you’re interested in learning more, we’d strongly recommend attending one of his courses.
Huge thanks to Kevin and to for hosting 🤝
