Happy International Day of Happiness 🩷💚

A very special visitor at Saltshouse Haven Care Home recently created a lot of smiles! 🙂

Little Raya popped in to see the residents, she even had a go at playing Manager for the day… and we think she did an amazing job!

There’s something so powerful about the happiness children and babies bring into our homes.

The laughter, the curiosity, the spontaneous smiles, it’s a kind of happiness that fills the whole home.

Intergenerational connections bring comfort and natural smiles that mean so much to our residents.

Exploring History Together at Barton Brook Care Home 🚢

Residents at Barton Brook Care Home recently spent the morning exploring the story of the Titanic, sharing memories of the film, reflections and fascinating facts as they turned each page.

Reminiscence sessions are powerful and when everyone is focused on the same topic, it draws you in and starts conversations that bring back memories.

We love seeing activities where people are fully engaged and enjoying it together, it's like watching a series or learning something new with friends.

👏A Positive Step Forward for We Care Group 👏

We’re really pleased to share that We Care Group are introducing Found by Lottie across our homes this month.
Over time, we’ve built a strong working relationship with Lottie, so expanding this partnership felt like a natural next step.

Bringing Found’s CRM and occupancy tools into 28 of our homes will help us take a more joined-up, efficient approach to managing enquiries and day-to-day operations.

For us, it’s all about making things easier for our teams. By simplifying processes behind the scenes, our colleagues can spend less time on admin and more time focusing on what they do best — providing high-quality, compassionate care to our residents.

This is an exciting development for both We Care Group and Summit Care Group, and we’re looking forward to seeing the difference it makes as our teams get started.

Spreading Love Across Generations at Saltshouse Haven Care Home 🩷💚

We were delighted to see residents at Saltshouse Haven Care Home enjoy a special visit from East Park Primary School on Valentine’s Day. 💌💘

The children brought beautifully handmade cards and flowers for our residents, and it really made their day!

Intergenerational sessions can create connections that make such a difference later in life.

Natural nurturing instincts kick in, and it’s beautiful to see residents light up when a child enters the room.

A huge thank you to East Park Primary School for taking the time to visit and to the team at Saltshouse Haven Care Home for continuing to create opportunities that bring generations together.

Care isn’t just about today. It’s about honouring yesterday, too. 💚🩷

Across all of our homes, residents regularly enjoy reminiscence sessions and memory games.

We love to share stories, reflect on special places and reconnect with the past using photos and old newspapers. 📰

These sessions support cognitive wellbeing, start conversations and often bring the biggest smiles when memories come back.

The Healthcare Design Awards recognise excellence and innovation across the health and social care property sector.

Today, we would like to shine a light on an inspiring Leader from We Care Group, Sara, Home Manager at Saltshouse Haven Care Home .

Sara has been part of the We Care Group family for some time and stepped into her role at Saltshouse Haven in August last year, bringing energy, creativity and passion to the home every day.

She hasn’t just stepped into the role; she’s embraced it fully.

Recently, Sara and the team have been working on transforming underused spaces into meaningful, resident-focused areas.

Sara has worked on creating a family room upstairs so loved ones can stay close during precious end-of-life moments.

She is always thinking about how to make life better for those in our care.

One of her latest ideas is turning a quiet room into an old-fashioned sweet shop, a space designed to spark memories, encourage conversation and bring residents together socially. 🍬🍭

Our homes are growing stronger every day, and that is because of women just like Sara! 👏🏼🩷💚

We are proud to share that Sowerby House Care Home has been rated ‘Good’ in all areas following its latest Care Quality Commission inspection.👏🏼🩷💚

This milestone reflects the dedication, teamwork and commitment of the entire Sowerby House team, who work every day to ensure residents feel safe, supported and truly at home.

The CQC praised the home’s clean and well-maintained environment, comprehensive care planning and strong person-centred approach.

The report also highlighted the motivated and well-supported staff team, who work collaboratively to deliver high-quality care.
