Mother’s Day brought a beautiful sense of togetherness across our homes, with heartfelt moments shared, stories revisited, and new memories gently made 💐

Our residents at Carnbroe Care Centre, Coatbridge recently enjoyed a wonderful music therapy session with West of Scotland Music Therapy, and the atmosphere was simply magical.

Music has a powerful way of unlocking memories, lifting spirits, and encouraging connection, which is why music therapy is an important part of the lifestyle programme at our Amicura care home.

Bright days at Kingsley Care Home in Paisley, Glasgow!☀️

Kingsley Care Home was joined by 4 wonderful students who spent a week really getting to know our residents. It is always wonderful to see different generations sharing stories. From making the most of the sunshine from the local walks to the relaxing pampering sessions, the home has been full of life and joy.💅

The week was topped with some gentle exercises, a lovely music session where everyone was singing and a visit from a fluffy rabbit. These are the lively activities and shared moments that keep our residents smiling making the Kingsley Care Home a special place. ❤️

🥞 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝘁𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀

Residents across our Amicura homes enjoyed a wonderful Pancake Day filled with delicious, sweet treats.

At Carnbroe Care Centre in , the day was full of sweet skewers and sizzling pancakes served alongside a hot afternoon tea.

At Kingsley Care Home in , the team prepared tables with a variety of delicious pancake fillings so residents could create their favourite combinations and enjoy a relaxed afternoon together.

At Liberton Brae Care Home in , residents enjoyed a colourful spread of blueberries, bananas, cream, honey, chocolate and strawberries. The activity sparked lovely conversations as everyone reminisced about their favourite childhood recipes and traditional Pancake Day treats.

Activities like these are an important part of daily life in our care homes, encouraging social interaction, stimulating memories and bringing joy to residents in our residential, nursing and dementia care communities across the UK.

Valentine’s Week at Kingsley Care Home, Glasgow 💕

🎤Valentine Week at Kingsley started with a local entertainer, Elvis, who joined for an afternoon of dancing, singing and joyful memories.
💌 Residents created handmade cards and love-heart crafts
🎵Musical Bingo sessions for some friendly competition kept residents busy during the week.
🐾Residents also shared what they love most, reminisced about treasured football memories, and enjoyed very special cuddles from our therapy pet Levi.

Our Home's Lifestyle Programme is a reminder that the smallest moments often mean the most.

When Generations Sing Together | Sing and Smile Group Session

During our Haslingden Hall Highlight Week, residents experienced one of those truly heart-warming mornings when they welcome Sing & Smile class.

The Sing & Smile sessions are designed to bring different generations together in a natural, joyful way.

Intergenerational activities are incredibly special in care homes. They create moments that feel familiar, comforting and full of life.

For many residents, spending time with young children brings back treasured memories of raising their own families.

Music has a powerful ability to unlock memories and emotions. As the group sang familiar songs together, residents naturally joined in with claps, foot taps and even danced along.

Staff Spotlight at Haslingden Hall | Supporting Mental Health in Care

We are shining a light on Nathan, our team member at Haslingden Hall Care Home - Amicura, who has successfully achieved his level 2 in Mental Health and First Aid Advocacy after completing three months of training and coursework across multiple modules.

This qualification allows Nathan to provide monthly one-to-one wellbeing sessions for residents, helping to support emotional wellbeing, encourage conversation and promote positive mental health within the home.

Nathan has been part of the Haslingden Hall family for 12 years, working as an Activity Co-ordinator and supporting the home team whenever needed. His commitment to residents and colleagues truly reflects the compassionate, person-centred care we strive to deliver every day.

Starting with our lovely residents, who inspire us every day. Haslingden Hall Care Home is a purpose-built Amicura home located in Rossendale.

❤️ Meet Shirley, She joined the Haslingden Hall family in 2023 and quickly became known as one of our most sociable and friendly residents.

💅 She loves getting involved in a wide range of care home activities, especially having her nails done (always painted bright red).

🎶You’ll often find her smiling at the Sing & Smile group every Tuesday morning.

Shirley worked as a slipper machinist and later in a betting shop. She was happily married to her husband Victor, and together they share a son, Paul.

Evelyn B | A Life of Care, Courage, and Captivating Stories

Today, we celebrate Evelyn B, a resident whose career reflects compassion, resilience, and a fearless sense of adventure.

🩺 Evelyn began her professional journey as a nurse, working on hospital wards where care and dedication were at the heart of her role.

🔐 She later changed direction and joined the Prison Service, where she was based at Garth Prison, a high-security facility housing 845 inmates, remaining there until her retirement.

🌍 Beyond her career, Evelyn has travelled extensively, spending a considerable amount of time in South Africa and embracing cultures from around the world.

💬 Evelyn is full of fascinating stories from her time in the prison service, keeping both residents and staff thoroughly entertained with her experiences and sharp wit.

Evelyn’s life is a wonderful blend of service, strength, and storytelling. We are proud to celebrate her as part of our care home community. 💙

Lynda H | A Life of Service, Strength, and Pride

Today, we recognise Lynda H, a resident whose entire career was dedicated to serving her country with courage and commitment.

🎖️ Lynda served in the military throughout her working life and was also married to a soldier, living a life shaped by service, resilience, and constant change.

🚑 During her time in the military, Lynda drove ambulances, playing a vital role in supporting others during times of need.

🌍 Her service took her across borders, including a relocation to Germany, before later returning to London as her career progressed.

👑 In one of the most remarkable chapters of her journey, Lynda served as the Queen's chauffeur for 3–4 years, a role that demanded professionalism, discretion, and immense trust.

Lynda often shares how proud she is to have worn the military uniform. Her story is one of strength, adaptability, and lifelong service, and we are honoured to celebrate her as part of the Jasmine Court family. 💙
