Food therapy offers significant physical, emotional and social benefits for residents. It transforms routine dining into a therapeutic and engaging experience.

On Wednesday Sai Ram Villa residents and staff engaged in a food therapy session where the head chef made some mouth watering treats washed down by juices, tea and coffee and delicious ice cream as afters. A delightful afternoon of indulgence 😋

Flower arranging in a care home setting is a highly effective, therapeutic activity that serves as more then just a creative pass time. It offers significant emotional, cognitive and physical benefits to residents, including those living with dementia. By engaging the senses through colour, scent and texture this activity helps reduce stress, boosts mood and creates a calming atmosphere.

Here are some of our residents enjoying flower arranging which we later placed at the lotus feet of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba 🙏

Today we celebrated a major Sikh festival called Vaisakhi celebrating the birth of the Sikh nation - the Khalsa in 1699. Vaisakhi marks the creation of the Sikh community by Guru Gobind Singh ji. The Khalsa identifies brotherhood to fight against injustice. We were privileged that volunteers from the Sheppards Bush Gurudwara came into the care home and did a short presentation on Vaisahki, followed by recital of holy scriptures from the Guru Granth Sahib, some beautifully sung shabats from the wonderful ladies from the Gurudwara followed by some prasad (offerings) in the form of delicious jalebis 😋

A very spiritual and divine morning had by all 🙏

At Sai Ram Villa the residents and staff are just like one big family. That is why when fellow activity co-ordinator, Bhavika was about to embark on the trip to India the residents wanted to take part in traditional auspicious Hindu rituals and feed her yogurt to wish her good luck, tie a raksha on her hand for safe travels and apply a tilak on her forehead so that she is protected, blessed and has a safe flight. ✈️ 🇮🇳

We were privileged to celebrate Ramnavmi over a two day period on 26th and 27th March in which our residents thoroughly enjoyed spirituality and unity whilst reciting '' Ramayan108 Manaka'' from old holy Hindu scriptures. We would also like to thanks Atulbhai/Nitaben for their constant dedication and thanks to Anjuben who came today to celebrate Ramnavami with her lovely musical instruments.
