💙 Today marks International Day of Charity, a day to celebrate the power of giving, no matter how big or small.

At Mind in Harrow, every bit of support helps us reach more people in our community who need someone to listen, guide, and stand beside them through mental health challenges.

Supporting us doesn’t always mean money — sharing our posts, attending our events, or giving your time as a volunteer all make a huge difference. Together, we can keep breaking the stigma around mental health and ensure no one feels alone in Harrow.

This means that from this date, SWiSH partners — Age UK Hillingdon, Harrow & Brent, Community Connex, Harrow Carers, HAD and Mind in Harrow — will no longer provide advice and information to callers.

From October, the London Borough of Harrow will continue providing information and advice on adult care and carer support. This will be available:

📧 Email: AHadults@harrow.gov.uk

📞 Phone: 020 8901 2680 (Mon–Fri, 9am–5pm)

👥 Face-to-face: via local Conversation Cafés across Harrow.

🟦 Find out more about dates, venues and updates: https://www.harrow.gov.uk/adult-social-care/conversation-cafe

Thank you to everyone who has been part of SWiSH, and please do reach out to Harrow Council services for support beyond September.

💬 Did you know? Mind in Harrow offers a free wellbeing programme called Stepping Stones, designed for people in our local community living with mental health challenges, as well as their carers.

Stepping Stones isn’t just courses - it’s a community. From yoga and Pilates to walking groups and online sessions, we provide weekly opportunities for people to connect, de-stress and improve their mental health in a friendly, judgement-free environment.

It’s Local Mind Week, and we want to take this moment to show you what your local Mind really means.

Mind in Harrow is an independent, local organisation, here for the people of Harrow. We’re not a branch, we’re a dedicated team working in our community every day to provide real, meaningful mental health support.

From peer support groups and wellbeing classes to one-on-one services, we meet people where they are and walk with them, however long it takes.

💙 This week, we’ll be shining a light on the work we do and how you can be a part of it, whether that’s sharing a post, joining a group or donating if you're able.

Last Friday, we took members of our Stepping Stones walking group and Men’s Group on a day trip to Westcliff-on-Sea, and what a beautiful day it was.

The weather was kind, the beach was immaculate, and the energy was full of calm, laughter and connection.

Moments like these remind us just how powerful fresh air, good company, and a change of scenery can be for our well-being.

Thank you to everyone who made the day so special. 💙
