About Us

We are Independent Family owned Funeral Directors in Belmont, serving the people of Harrow and the surrounding areas. We are committed to being open, honest and trustworthy in caring for the families and loved ones we are privileged to serve. As a small and independent company we treat each family we come into contact with as individuals with the sole intention of making a very difficult time as easy as is possible. We are not bound by corporate directives or national chains, and so are able to give each family the best possible service. Living and working locally enables us to be in touch with the needs of the community. You are welcome to visit us at our office in Belmont, where you will find ample free car parking, or if you would find it more convenient funeral arrangements can be made in the comfort of your own home by appointment. Our main aim is to offer a fully inclusive funeral service, liaising with all the necessary third parties on your behalf, taking into account your wishes and requirements when planning the perfect send off for your loved one so that we may carry as many of the
administrative burdens as we can at a difficult time for you. Although we are based locally, we are more than happy to assist and give advice in the event of a death occurring away from home. We are pleased to offer advice without obligation 24 hours a day.

Today, we remember , with respect, with gratitude, and with pride ❤️

02/11/2025

We wholeheartedly support the comments made by Andrew Judd, Chief Executive of the National Association of Funeral Directors, on BBC Breakfast this week.

“It’s the last goodbye — surely we can take five minutes to put ourselves in the position of the family.”

A funeral procession is not just traffic on the road — it’s a family saying farewell to someone they love.
We join Andrew in asking all motorists to show patience, empathy, and respect when they encounter a cortege.

Taking a few extra moments can mean the world to those grieving. 💜

🌟 November is a month of awareness, reflection, and support. 🌟

Throughout November, we’ll be sharing information and raising awareness for several important health campaigns — each shining a light on causes that touch so many lives:

💛 Lung Cancer Awareness Month
💜 Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month
💙 Mouth Cancer Action Month
🖤 Movember – Men’s Health Awareness

At Wisbech Funeral Service, we’re proud to help spark conversations that matter — about prevention, early detection, and the importance of looking after our health and one another.

Direct cremation carried out locally, with dignity and care.

Did you know a direct cremation doesn’t have to mean choosing a online company? At James Funeral Service, we offer the same service at a similar cost with local care, personal attention, and dignity.

Your loved one stays close to home, cared for in our facilities, and you can even visit them in our chapel if you wish. Unlike the big companies, we’re here for you in person, every step of the way.

Have questions? It’s never too late to talk to us.

International Brain Tumour Awareness Week🧠

This week, we join people around the world in raising awareness of brain tumours — supporting those living with the diagnosis, remembering loved ones lost, and recognising the strength of families, carers, and healthcare teams who face this journey together.

At James Funeral Service, we believe in the power of compassion, understanding, and connection.
By shining a light on brain tumour awareness, we hope to encourage continued research, early diagnosis, and better support for everyone affected.

Let’s take a moment this week to learn, share, and honour.
Every voice raised brings us one step closer to hope. 💛

💗 Today we’re wearing it pink! 💗

In support of Breast Cancer Now’s Wear It Pink Day, our team proudly joins thousands across the UK raising awareness and funds for life-saving breast cancer research and support.

Every pink outfit, every donation, and every conversation helps bring us closer to a future where everyone diagnosed with breast cancer lives — and lives well. 🎀

Together, we wear it pink for hope, strength, and remembrance.

On 20 October 2025, we observe World Osteoporosis Day — a day to raise awareness of a silent disease that affects millions worldwide.

The 2025 theme, “It’s Unacceptable!”, calls us all to action: it is unacceptable that so many remain undiagnosed or untreated.

At James Funeral Service, we recognise the importance of health, dignity, and prevention. Today, we honour those who have been impacted by fractures, frailty, and loss — and we stand in solidarity with efforts to promote bone health, support early diagnosis, and ensure people receive the care they deserve.

Let’s support one another: encourage loved ones to know their bone health, speak openly about risk, and act early. Because prevention, compassion, and awareness save lives.

Earlier this month, before accompanying a gentleman to his final resting place, we paused at the home where he had been living. It was a privilege to give those who cared for him the chance to say their goodbyes and wave him off on his final journey. 🌿
