Love x light and blessings to all who need it, thought would share this from Doreen Virtue,
Rest your sensitive heart.
When a tragedy occurs, such as in Manchester, it triggers deep emotional responses of grief. If you've been previously traumatized, this tragedy can trigger your post-traumatic symptoms. Reading or watching stories about the incident can also bring up symptoms of "secondary PTSD" which I wrote about in "Don't Let Anything Dull Your Sparkle."
Undoubtedly you've been praying and sending healing energy to everyone. So be sure to rest if you're feeling drained. Retreat into quiet as much as possible.
Don't isolate yourself from support, though. If you need to talk, please reach out to your support system . . . especially if you feel tempted to relapse into an addiction or other self-harmful behaviors. Counselors who are trained in treating post-traumatic symptoms are also very helpful. I like the work of the therapists listed at emdr.com.
Be sure to balance all of the giving and caring you're doing, with receiving support and care for yourself. And please keep the faith that there are many many good people on this planet, far-outnumbering those who act in evil ways. And the good people need you and your life purpose!
Here's a helpful prayer: Dear God, Your love heals and restores my heart from brokenness to faith. Here are my shattered feelings - thank you for restoring me. My prayers go out to everyone who is suffering, and I appreciate you helping me as well so that I can help others more effectively.
And here's a supportive scripture: Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. John 14:27
