This Easter Meynell and Mason Funeral Directors are coming together for our Easter Egg Appeal, supporting our local community in a meaningful way.

This year, we are proudly collecting eggs across our 4 branches for local charities.
No matter how small, we can help bring a little joy to children in our local area's.

Easter eggs can be dropped off at your local funeral directors, or we can arrange to collect them if needed.

This weekend, we were proud to spend time in our community honouring mothers, grandmothers, and the special women who hold a place in our hearts. 💐

Some of our staff went into the community and handed out daffodils as a beautiful gesture.

Thank you to everyone who joined in, shared a memory, or stopped for a chat. Coming together in this way reminds us how caring and connected our local community truly is.

Mother's Day Memories from Sara.

'It is an honour to work at Meynell and Mason Funeral Directors in Wingate. My role here connects me more than ever to my mother, who was cherished by many in surrounding villages.

My mam, Enid Errington was a Trimdon girl. Even now she is still fondly remembered in the area. I will bump into people that I know or even don't know. When I tell them I am Enid's daughter they are thrilled to tell me stories about her, how they knew her and how she touched their lives. In these instances, I feel that she is brought back to life and I know her all over again.

My mother lives on in my memories, but also, since her passing I get to know her more through the tales of the lovely people from surrounding communities. After losing her I can say that these random meetings and stories help me heal and are vitally important to the wellbeing of everyone and further connect me to the community.

A few years ago, on Mother's Day, I sent my mam a song by Beth Hart 'Mama, This One's For You'. She replied 'Beautiful words to a beautiful song. Thank you for sharing it with me. I love you immensely - Mam ###xx'.

This song without realising at the time would be her exit song at her funeral. It was beautiful.
