Can anyone tell me what happened to slow January? 👀😅 You've kept me very busy this month and I'm incredibly grateful. That being said, this does mean I am fully booked this week, and only have one or two slots next week.

I do have a list running in the background and will try my best to adjust bookings and timings if I can to fit everyone in quicker.

Please do bare with me though, I am also currently studying a masters level module with Manchester University, which is taking a lot of my free time too (I clearly thought I wasn't busy enough!)

My sincere apologies that I may have to rearrange some appointments over the next couple of days. I ordered my new stock last Monday, and the turn around time is usually 48hours. I missed delivery while out on visits on Friday and Royal Mail have no re-attempted delivery. It's been difficult trying to get in touch with the company to rectify this.

Fingers crossed for a delivery tomorrow 🤞 I will contact anyone who's appointment may be affected as soon as possible.

For any clients of mine I have seen with hearing concerns, that did not improve with ear wax removal, there's an opportunity to pop to this open day and have your hearing screened. No appointments necessary, event is on from 10am until 4pm. There will be other organisations there like RNID, NDCS and Phonak to name but a few.

AN audiology team from the One Life Hartlepool is hosting an open day event on Wednesday 29 October, from 10am to 4pm.

The event is open to all members of the public and will welcome external support groups, walk-in hearing tests, workshops, useful advice and activities such as:

- Hearing screening
- Basic hearing aid maintenance workshop
- Tinnitus information and leaflets
- Visual reinforcement audiometry (VRA) demonstration showcasing how we test babies hearing
- A colouring competition for younger attendees

Alongside professional NHS audiologists, several external groups will be attending on the day to give support, advice and guidance on hearing loss such as:

- National Deaf Children’s Society
- Action Deafness Durham
- Phonak
- Sensory Teaching Advisory and Resource service (STARS)
- RNID
- …and more

Audiology team lead, Sue Kitching said: “We’re pleased to welcome members of the public to an open day event in our audiology department at the One Life Hartlepool, to come and discuss auditory disorders and what advice and support there may be for them.

“We have several groups who will be joining us on the day to support people of all ages including the National Deaf Children’s Society (NDCS), Action Deafness Durham and Phonak among others.

“We will also have a basic hearing aid maintenance workshop and some walk-in hearing screening sessions available.

“This is a great opportunity for anyone who has ever had any questions or concerns about their hearing, may be after some general advice or further support for their audiology concerns to discuss things with a member of our team, or with one of our external partners.”

My business is 4 years old today 🥳

4 years ago, I took a leap of faith, and while being confined to my house because of covid, I took the opportunity to put the wheels in motion for my new adventure.

I'm still loving every minute of it. Is it hard work being your own boss and being the only one in charge of bookings, appointments, answering calls, email and SMS messages, stock control, bookkeeping, tax returns, and social media? Absolutely 💯
..but is it worth it? Absolutely 💯

I've met so many wonderful people along the way, and the fact that I continue to meet new people on a weekly basis makes me happy and so proud.

Thank you to my patients and to anyone who has not booked with me for themselves but liked a post, shared my page, or recommended me to their friends and family. It does not go unnoticed, and it's appreciated more than you'll know 🫶

Personally, I have a very busy August and this is my availability throughout the month for wax removal.

If you are thinking of getting your ears cleared before your holidays, or before any appointments involving hearing assessments on hearing aids, please get in touch as soon as you can to book in. I may be able to add additional slots around the month.

I'm on holiday from 1st-8th August and all calls and messages will be diverted during this week, while I reset.

Hello everyone

Just a quick update from me while I'm between appointments today.

I am away half term week - so I'm closed from May 25th and reopen 2nd June. The first couple of weeks of June are busy as someone is celebrating a BIG birthday 🎂 🥳

Just a little update from me regarding prices.

I have always tried to be the most reasonably priced aural care provider, and my prices have remained the same since the end of my introductory period in 2021. The costs of running my business, however, have been increasing steadily since this time.

I have made the decision therefore to increase my prices, applicable to new bookings made from 1st April 2025. The biggest increase is seen for my examination only appointments, as I still block out an hour of my time, even if there is no wax to remove.

While I appreciate this may be disappointing news, especially with the rising cost of living, I do hope you understand. Even with the slight increase in price, my prices for wax removal are still competitive as this is all delivered in the comfort of your own home.
