Information regarding the media coverage of the recent Meningitis B (MenB) outbreak.

As there is currently no MenB vaccination programme for adults as part of the NHS Vaccination Schedule, we are unfortunately unable to offer the vaccine to adults.

The MenB vaccine was introduced into the routine childhood immunisation schedule from 1st May 2015.

This means:
💉If you are a teenager or young adult born before 1 May 2015, you will not have received the MenB vaccine as part of the NHS schedule
💉The MenB vaccine is now routinely offered to babies as part of the NHS childhood schedule at 8 weeks, 12 weeks, 12 months.

If your child is eligible for the vaccine, they will automatically be invited as part of the routine schedule.

If you have any concerns about meningitis symptoms or believe someone may be unwell, please seek urgent medical advice.

💙 Do you look after someone? Then who looks after you? 💙

We’re pleased to be welcoming Hartlepool Carers to a special event at:

📍 The Thrive Hive, Farndale Road, Seaton Carew
📅 Friday 27th February
⏰ 1:00pm til 3:00pm

If you care for a family member, partner or friend — whether they have an illness, disability, mental health condition, frailty or addiction — you are a carer, even if you don’t think of yourself as one.

There are 5.8 million unpaid carers in the UK, and right here in Hartlepool there are 6,500 registered adult carers and 600 young carers receiving support from Hartlepool Carers. Unpaid carers save the economy billions each year — so its important that carers receive support too.

Hartlepool Carers can offer:

✨ Quick, free and easy registration
✨ A Carer’s Assessment
✨ Help with Carer’s Allowance, PIP and Financial benefits applications
✨ Referrals to other services for support tailored to your needs
✨ A welcome pack and Carer’s Card (giving you access to local shopping discounts and days out)
✨ Access to discounted breaks
✨ Did you know, they also continue to support ex-carers who may have sadly lost the person they cared for
....and more.

☕ Free tea and coffee, and maybe even a biscuit, will be available, so please come along, have a chat and find out what support is available in a relaxed and friendly setting.

You don’t have to do it alone 💙

We’d love to see you there!

Next session is tomorrow at 6pm if you would like to pop along.
