I’ve always wanted to do the Great North Run, but everyone who knows me knows I hate running 😂.. so after my daughter Emma completed it in September, I was so proud of her and thought with the right training I can do this.. I know I must be mad but it’s not till 2026 so I’ve loads of time to train..
And this is my story why I’m entering it.. 🥰
My husband Brian was diagnosed with bowl cancer in Sept 2021, he had chemotherapy and radiotherapy which didn’t work so he underwent surgery and unfortunately it was to bad that they took a lot of his bowl away that he ended up with a Stoma.. in Jan 2022 after a scan they found the tumour had spread to his liver, another operation in the may to resect half of his liver.. We hoped that was it and can finally get on with our lives then in Dec 2023 they discovered Stage 4 tumours in both his lungs.. hi is currently on palliative chemotherapy to try and contain the cancer from spreading any further.. it’s absolutely heartbreaking that this disease can be so cruel, it’s kept us moving forward and staying as positive as we can. We then was dealt with another blow in Dec 2024 when I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I had surgery in Feb 2025 and some radiotherapy and fingers crossed I’m on the mend.. by giving to this worthwhile cause can hopefully help them find a cure to end this horrendous disease
Please if you can donate to this amazing cause
Here is my story
