FLU & COVID VACCINES AVAILABLE 🩼🤕
from the 3rd October!

No appointment required for the flu vaccine.

You can get the free NHS flu vaccine if you:

are aged 65 or over (or 6 months until you are 65)

have certain long-term health conditions

are pregnant

live in a care home

are the main carer for an older or disabled person
receive a carer's allowance

live with someone who has a weakened immune system

An appointment is required for the covid vaccine at the moment. This can be booked through your nhs account or online from the 23rd September.

FREE SERVICES!!!

Thought it would be helpful to give you a up to date list of all the services we now offer in the pharmacy.

No need to make an appointment with your Dr you can just pop in and see our fully trained pharmacist. Who is more than happy to help!

Come and speak to our pharmacist if you suspect you have:

Earache (in children over 1)

Impetigo (over 1)

Infected insect bite (over 1)

Shingles (18 and over)

Sinusitis (12 and over)

Sore throat (5 and over)

Urinary tract infection (in women 16-64)

Emergency contraception (morning after pill)

Healthy start vitamins ( for women and children)

Contraception (you can now get your pill from the pharmacy)

Blood pressure checks (over 40, but can be checked for under in certain circumstances)

Think pharmacy first (minor ailment- under 16 and over 60 can get most over the counter medicines for free. Also people on certain benefits. Eg paracetamol, teething, nappy rash and many more)

We now offer FREE Emergency Hormonal Contraception!

The aims of this service are to:

improve access to emergency contraception, safer s*x and s*xual health advice;

reduce the number of unintended pregnancies in the client group by use of EHC;

refer all clients accessing this service into mainstream contraceptive services for ongoing contraceptive needs;

increase the knowledge of risks associated with s*xually transmitted infections (STIs);

refer clients at risk of STIs to an appropriate service;

increase knowledge, especially among young people, of the availability of EHC from the community pharmacy setting.

All services supplied in the pharmacy are conducted in the private consultation room. Any information shared is confidential.

So please do not be afraid to access our pharmacy for any help or advice.

WHEN DID YOU LAST HAVE YOUR BLOOD PRESSURE CHECKED??

We are offering free NHS blood pressure checks to people aged 40 and over or under 40 at the discretion of the pharmacist or technician.

No appointment necessary.

This involves around 10-15 minutes in the pharmacy consultation room with our pharmacist or a pharmacy technician.

Following this, you may be invited to take home a blood pressure monitor that measures your blood pressure as you go about your daily life.

Depending on your blood pressure reading you may be referred to your GP.

A great opportunity has arisen to join the team at Headland Pharmacy. We are looking for a qualified, experienced dispenser to join our small team on a full-time basis.

We are an independent pharmacy that can be demanding therefore, require someone who is motivated, hardworking, honest, and reliable with an excellent patient centred approach and customer service skills.

As a pharmacy member your duties will include:

* Being part of the local community providing advice, promoting healthier lifestyles.
* Safely dispensing prescriptions, eg ordering medications, labelling and endorsing.
* Complying with legal and professional requirements of SOP’s,
* Communicating with other healthcare professionals.
* Play an active role in general housekeeping of the dispensary and shop floor, stock ordering for OTC and dispensary, date checking and stock rotation.

We operate Monday to Thursday 9am-6pm
Fridays 9am-5pm

Pay negotiable depending on experience.

Experience is essential.
NVQ 2 or above required.
