Graeme has been a trained first aider for over 30 years, with certification from RLSS, RYA and STCW. During his previous career at sea Graeme was responsible for the medical welfare of all the crew onboard. Alongside his First Aid work Graeme is also a qualified Community First Responder for North East Ambulance Service. In this role Graeme responds to Category 1 (respiratory or cardiac arrest) emergencies and Category 2 (other life threatening emergencies) in the local community. The experience gained from this role is passed on in classes and makes a difference to real life first aid by having someone who not only teaches first aid, but practises it as well. I am offering accredited first aid training in Teesside and the surrounding areas for individuals, businesses, schools, nursery's and other organisations. My training is accredited by Ofqual & TQUK and as such my training is subject to inspection and quality control to ensure I am delivering current best practices. I can also offer bespoke first aid training to suit your requirements; however these courses are not accredited although I can issue in-house certificates if needed. My wife is a child-minder and I am her assistant so I have first-hand knowledge and experience of what it is like to look after young people. I do have some fixed course dates but I can be flexible if you need a course running outside these dates so it can work for your requirements. As I am freelance instructor I have no fixed premises and I can travel to run the course at your office, home for childminders etc. I only require a room with a blank wall to run the projector onto and for all courses. I have been independently assessed for knowledge and competence in the subject of First Aid and successfully delivered a minimum of 2 first aid teaching presentations which included demonstrations and theoretical knowledge based on subjects taken from the 3 Day First Aid at Work Course. I have also demonstrated competency in first aid assessment, evaluating first aid candidates and completing peer evaluations while observing other candidates' presentations. Prior to my course, I completed a 9 hour video course which included adult, child, infant and AED skills provided by ProTrainings. As a ProTrainings instructor, I will be will be completing an annual skill evaluation with another instructor in addition to ensuring continuing professional development using ProTrainings video based e-learning, ProTrainings instructor updates and attending webinars and training events provided by ProTrainings. I have also completed training in the regulated system, centre management, recording learning outcomes, assessment criteria and the internal/external verification process. By using the ProTrainings system, I will be able to manage and regulate my learners, enabling me to pass any verification process. As part of my role as an instructor and other work roles, I have experience in all forms of customer service. This experience includes talking to customers/colleagues on the phone and face to face discussions. And as part of my teaching role, I am involved with problem solving, communication, and delivering training.
