Why I always encourage clients to return for a review.

Follow-up appointments, often called client reviews in aesthetic practices, are a standard part of Toxin treatment protocols for several key reasons. These typically occur 2-3 weeks after the initial injections, once the full effects have had time to develop (toxin can take up to 14 days to fully settle and show optimal results).   

1. Assessing Full Results
• Initial effects might appear within a few days, but the complete outcome isn’t visible right away. A review allows the practitioner to evaluate how well the Botox has worked on targeted areas like wrinkles or lines, and decide if adjustments are needed.  

2. Addressing Any Issues or Touch-Ups
• If results are underwhelming, uneven, or if there’s unexpected movement in treated areas, a top-up dose can be administered safely at this stage. Offering this as part of the service builds trust and ensures satisfaction, rather than rushing corrections too early.  

3. Monitoring Side Effects and Safety
• While Toxin is generally safe, reviews provide an opportunity to check for any lingering side effects (like bruising or asymmetry) and confirm everything has resolved properly. This helps prevent complications and allows for personalized advice on future treatments.  

4. Planning Maintenance
• Reviews help discuss long-term plans, such as when to schedule the next session (typically every 3-6 months, depending on individual response). This keeps results consistent and helps clients what to expect over time.

Overall, these appointments aren’t always mandatory but are recommended to optimise outcomes and maintain a positive client-provider relationship. If results meet expectations earlier, some practices may skip them, but waiting the full period avoids unnecessary interventions.
