It was great to meet with Matthew and Ruth from Cicor yesterday to kick off this year’s Duvet Day.

Cicor are the first business to sign up for this fun initiative, which invites companies to run an internal raffle giving employees the chance to win an extra day off work.

Thank you to Hartlepool Art Gallery for inviting the Hospice to the launch of Emily Carter’s exhibition on Friday. The exhibition thoughtfully explores themes of loss and remembrance, and it was wonderful to see such a great turnout.

The event was attended by Greg Hildreth, Business & Communications Senior Manager, and Gil Parker, Community Fundraiser.

Our very own fundraiser Gil is taking on the Bath Half Marathon on Sunday 15th March in support of Alice House Hospice!

This will be Gil’s first ever half marathon and he’s been training incredibly hard for the challenge.

Every mile he runs will help support the care we provide to patients and families in our community.

4 weeks to go until Cycle-a-Marathon!

Riders will navigate a scenic 26.2-mile marathon route from Barnard Grove Primary School, along the beautiful Hart to Haswell walkway, taking you all the way to the Dancing Betty in Dalton Park, Murton, and back.

𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀:
✅ Fully marshalled route for a safe and enjoyable experience.
✅ Maps provided for easy navigation.
✅ Water at the start of the ride and light refreshments at the end.
✅ Medal for participation and an e-certificate to celebrate your achievement!
✅ This event is open to riders aged 14 and over, and entry costs £10 per rider.

(Riders aged 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult.)

Talking about death and dying isn’t easy, but your views can help shape more compassionate care when it matters most.

The NHS North East and North Cumbria is inviting people to share their thoughts through a short, anonymous survey: Thoughts about Palliative and End of Life Care. It explores how people feel about discussing death, dying, and the care they would want for themselves or their loved ones.

Palliative and end-of-life care focuses on comfort, dignity and support for both patients and families - values that are at the heart of what we do every day at Alice House Hospice.

By sharing your views, you can help improve services locally and ensure care reflects what truly matters to our community.

The survey is anonymous and takes just a few minutes to complete.
