With the Fleet Half Marathon approaching, we are aware that running often carries stories far beyond the finish line.

We recently saw a local runner sharing that she is running in memory of her parents who she lost to cancer. It’s a powerful reminder that behind every runner or race there is often a deeply personal reason for being there.

Some people run for health.
Some for challenge.
Some for community.
And sometimes people run for those who can’t.

If you’re taking part in the Fleet Half Marathon at the end of the month, we’d love to hear your story.
What’s your reason for running?

Good luck to all the runners in their last week of preparing. Take it easy this week. Look after your body and muscles and get plenty of sleep. If you fancy a prep or post massage at the event we will be there and hope to meet you there!

People often ask me why I became a sports therapist and opened The Body Reset Clinic here in Hartley Wintney.

Honestly? It was injury.

As a county and southern region netball player, I spent more time than I would’ve liked on the sidelines. And what frustrated me most wasn’t just being injured. It was feeling “better”… only for the same problem to come back again.

It made me realise early on that the pain isn’t always where the problem starts.
And if you don’t treat the root cause, it will keep returning.

That experience shaped everything.

It’s why I trained as a Sports Therapist, why I worked across the NHS and sports injury clinics, and why I lead pitch-side medical care at Redingensians Rugby Club.

And in 2013, it’s why I opened The Body Reset Clinic! 💜
I wanted to create a space where treatment looks at the whole body, where prevention matters just as much as recovery, and where people feel genuinely supported from day one.

Because I know how important it is to get back to doing what you love. Safely, confidently, and stronger than before.

If you’re tired of recurring pain or quick fixes, let’s reset things properly 💜

We’re really pleased to welcome Sophie Storrow to the Body Reset Clinic team.

Sophie’s journey into sports therapy began through gymnastics, where she competed as part of the Welsh Tumbling Squad.

Gymnastics teaches a deep respect for movement. How strength, balance and technique all work together. That early experience sparked Sophie’s interest in understanding how the body works and how to help people recover when things don’t feel quite right.

She went on to study Sports Therapy and complete a MSc in Strength and Conditioning, gaining experience working with both everyday clients and athletes within rugby and football environments.

Today Sophie helps people:
⭐️ understand why injuries happen
⭐️ rebuild strength and confidence
⭐️ return to the activities they enjoy

Her work often focuses on how the body moves as a whole, identifying underlying imbalances that can contribute to recurring pain or injury.

To celebrate Sophie joining the clinic we’re offering 20% off all appointments with her during March 2026 only.

Quote SOPHIE20 when paying in clinic.
If you’d like to start with an assessment, our team would be happy to help.

The final few weeks before a half marathon are all about arriving at the start line feeling fresh, not exhausted.

This is when training starts to taper, recovery becomes more important, and small niggles shouldn’t be ignored.

We know if you’re local to us in Hartley Wintney you might be running the Fleet Half Marathon at the end of the month. We’ll be there on the day to support you and would like to share some advice now to help you prepare for the day.

3 weeks to go:
This is usually your final bigger training week. Many runners will complete their longest run around this point. It’s also a good time for a sports massage if your legs are feeling tight from peak training, as there’s still plenty of time to recover before race day.

2 weeks to go:
Start tapering by reducing your overall mileage by around 25–30%. Keep some shorter faster efforts to stay sharp. If you’ve picked up any small niggles during training, this is a good time to get them checked before they become bigger issues.

Race week:
Training should feel lighter now. Focus on short easy runs, good sleep, hydration and gentle mobility. Avoid anything new or intense. If you have any treatment this week, it should be very light and recovery-focused.

You can’t gain new fitness in the final weeks, but you can help your body arrive at the start line feeling rested, prepared and ready to run.

You’ve got this! And we’re ready to support if your body needs something extra.

Nikki was training for a half marathon, but an injury gave her the fear that should wouldn’t be able to run the race, after all her training. We gave her a clear, achievable plan as well as support and reassurance, and she aced that race and rain it pain and injury free! Go Nikki!
If you’re running the this month there’s still time to address any niggles. We’re here to help you be at your best before the race, and we’ll be there on race day too to support you, and offer pre and post massages.
Here’s Nikki’s full review: 💜

“Becs treated me for an injury during my half marathon training. I was really concerned I wouldn’t be able to complete the course, however Becs provided excellent physio and a strengthening plan and was so reassuring that I would be able to do it.

Yesterday I ran my first ever half marathon and under the time I thought I would. No injury pain thanks to the great treatment provided. Thank you Becs! :)

In addition to the great treatment, the rest of the team, especially the lovely ladies on reception, are so welcoming and kind. This level of customer service makes all the difference. I hope I don’t get injured again but if I do, I will 100% be coming back.”

Something we hear a lot, and perhaps you’ve said yourself, is that your back ‘went’ or ‘gave-way’ one day when all you did was reach for a coffee or put your socks on. Or maybe you just went to sleep! Did you sleep funny?

The thing is those little things like picking something up, sleeping awkwardly or reaching awkwardly wasn’t the problem.

Think of it like a full bucket of water. When your back is under strain, it’s full to the brim, and it only takes one extra thing to cause it to overflow. This shows there is a root cause to get to the bottom of. A physio is trained to find those issues, and empty that bucket!

It doesn’t mean weeks or months of continued physio necessarily. Sometimes one quick visit can really help. Here’s a lovely review from one of our patients:

“My back kept going in the first 7 months of having a baby. He’s a heavy boy!
After one session with Jess at the Body Reset Clinic, and some useful tips on my posture which I’d never noticed before, the issues have stopped. I’m able to sustain life with a heavy baby without compromising on anything.
I’m still able to be there for him, pick him up and carry him.

It’s honestly changed my everyday life for the better after having some days before where I wasn’t able to lift my child!”

You don’t need to deal with niggles. Get in touch with a physio to see what they might suggest. If you’re not sure what you might need, drop us a DM and we might be able to offer some advice. Backs are one of the most common issues, but they don’t have to be.

We work and hire around values. It's so important that we feel the same about the care we give as a team, and one of the most important areas is listening. We want to listen to you and understand you, give you the time and a safe space to talk and explain, and ensure you are feeling fully comfortable in our Hampshire physio clinic.

That's why it means so much that when we asked AI to analyse our reviews and pull out the most commonly used phrases, it's so lovely to see that they were "listened to", "took the time", "didn't rush", "asked the right questions" and "made me feel at ease". You are feeling how we hope to make you feel! Hurray!

The next most commonly used were "pain free", "sharp pain gone", "relief", "no longer in pain" and "able to move again", which shows we are doing our job properly :)

70% of our Google views referenced feeling heard and relief from pain, and they're all 5 star!

Thank you for your lovely reviews! Not only is it great to hear the feedback but it's also wonderful to hear from clients again post treatment and know they are still happy. x
