Urgent care dental appointments are available 7 days a week, including evenings, for both adults and children in Suffolk and north east Essex.

If you need fillings or have dental problems such as pain, infected teeth or gums, broken fillings or crowns, or any other urgent dental care need, please contact NHS 111 to access treatment.

The surgery is closing at 12 noon on Thursday 26th June 2025 and our phone lines will be transferred to 111. The usual evening surgery will still take place.
Please be aware that the half day closure has been arranged by Suffolk and North East Essex ICB and applies to all surgeries in this area.

Since the introduction of AskMyGP it is easier than ever to cancel appointments. We also have a dedicated cancellation line to help reduce our number of missed appointments, if you are unable to attend please respond with the word "CANCEL" to the text reminder you receive. We also have the option of calling if you can't text, please dial 01255 879400, select option 5 and leave a message with your details, once you are in the call system you will not have to wait in the queue by selecting this option.

Whilst we still have a long way to go with drastically reducing the amount of missed appointments, we have seen an improvement since last month. Thank you to those of our patients that took the time to cancel throughout April, we hope to see further reductions to the amount of missed appointments in May.

Please note Mayflower Medical Centre will be closed on the upcoming Bank Holidays - Monday 5th and Monday 26th April 2025.

Next Monday (May 5) is a bank holiday.

GP practices and some pharmacies will be closed.

Do please bear this in mind when considering your repeat prescription needs.

It is with regret that we have noticed a huge increase in the nonattendance of appointments recently. With the introduction of AskMyGP it it easier than ever to cancel an appointment. All appointments are important and in huge demand so we urge our patients to please ensure you cancel if you can no longer make it. Appointments can also be cancelled over the phone or via text. Please be mindful of those patients that may benefit from your appointment if you can no longer attend.
