Penny Barrington Reflexology

Penny Barrington Reflexology Clinical Reflexologist based in Harwich, Essex I work holistically with my clients and aim to work alongside allopathic healthcare to promote better health.

I am a full member of the Association of Reflexologists (MAR), the Complementary Therapists Association (mCThA) and the Association of Reproductive Reflexologists (MARR). Reflexology is a non-intrusive complementary health therapy, based on the theory that different points of the feet correspond with different areas of the body. Each treatment is individually tailored to my client as a whole pers

on, taking into account both physical and non-physical factors that might be affecting their well-being. The majority of my clients find it works for them and feel great benefit. Reflexology can be received by anyone at any age However, there may occasionally be times when it is not suitable so feel free to give me a call and I can advise whether it would be beneficial for you. All telephone consultations will be viewed as valuable and confidential, so don't hesitate to contact me regarding any concern. As a professional reflexologist I do not claim to cure, diagnose or prescribe. I continually strive to further my own professional development in order to offer the best treatments to my clients:

Burnout develops over time when prolonged stress overwhelms the body’s ability to recover. It can affect energy levels, concentration, sleep, emotional resilience, and the nervous system’s capacity to switch out of a constant state of alertness.

Reflexology is a complementary therapy that may support burnout recovery by encouraging deep relaxation and helping to regulate the nervous system. When the body is given regular opportunities to move into a rest-and-restore state, it can begin to rebuild its capacity for rest, energy, and emotional processing.

Reflexology may also help improve body awareness, supporting individuals in recognising early signs of fatigue or overwhelm. This awareness can be an important part of recovery, helping people respond more gently to their limits rather than pushing through exhaustion.

While reflexology does not replace medical or psychological care, it can be used alongside appropriate support as part of a gradual, holistic approach to recovery. By working with the body rather than forcing change, reflexology may help support resilience and a more sustainable return to balance over time.

💜 The Irish Reflexologists’ Institute (IRI) is the professional body for reflexology in Ireland, supporting reflexologists through education, professional standards, continued learning, and a connected practitioner community. 💜

In our members experience men are often more sceptical about Reproflexology™ than women.

What we find is after the initial consultation where they learn about our tests and protocols they tend to come round to the idea.

Reproductive reflexologists know that despite s***m being delicate and easily damaged, there is much that can be done to improve both quality and quantity. S***m quality can be affected by diet, poor sleep, high stress levels, heat, some forms of exercise and these can be fairly easily remedied.

And like other health practitioners we use Semen Analysis and S***m DNA Fragmentation testing to help us to understand where the issues may be and repeat testing to measure progress.

Well trained reproductive reflexologists (like our members), know what to look out for:

"I had a s***m test which came back pretty fine but the reflexologist spotted raised white blood cells, so she suggested I go for some further tests. I had bacteria present, which the GP and hospital hadn’t noticed, and was treated with antibiotics." - Male participant from a small phenomenological study in January 2023.

Whilst reflexology, or any other form of complementary therapy might not suit everyone, it can be a useful form of support and provides a means of reducing stress and an integrative approach to fertility.

As a trained Reproductive Reflexologist, I’m always happy to answer any questions you might have about this treatment. If you’re curious or wondering whether it could support you, feel free to message me or give me a call for a friendly, no pressure chat.

Reproductive Reflexologists, use an evidence-based approach.

Which means that our trained reflexologists use medical tests to help them determine where the underlying issues may be. This information is used to plan effective and appropriate treatment.

Using the Reproflexology™ system looks at the whole person, their lifestyle, nutrition, cycle, stress levels and more.

Medical testing may include relevant blood tests and semen analysis. Members also use repeat testing to help them measure ongoing progress.

Using a forensic approach to bring together all of the pieces of the jigsaw puzzle to find the ‘Aha’ moment, is one of the things our members feel makes their job worthwhile.

Of course the best feeling is when the get a positive result for mum's and dad's to be!

✨ Coming up this week – a 3-day virtual fertility event ✨

This free 3-day online event with Dr Body Mind Soul, created for women over 40 (and their partners) who want to explore ways to support fertility naturally.

As part of the event, Barbara Scott will be a featured speaker, talking about Reproductive Reflexology and explaining how fertility is not solely about hormones. Her work focuses on looking at the whole picture — mind, body and soul and how these systems work together to support reproductive health.
