Collagen supplements???

You asked… so here are my thoughts. I know many of you have feelings on this and if they work for you then that’s brilliant! This is really about the science, and maybe in future we will have more robust evidence to support collagen.

Although another point worth making is that collagen as a molecule is too large to pe*****te the skin, so any serum or cream that claims to contain it is pointless. It may sit on the surface to temporarily improve surface-level hydration but offers nothing more.

This gorgeous patient had a few subtle ‘tweakments’ to high aimed to enhance her natural beauty - whilst always respecting normal anatomy. We are delighted she was over the moon with her results.

When we look at just how complex the blood supply to the face is, it’s easy to understand that bruising is a risk!

All our doctors are highly trained and have a comprehensive understanding of facial anatomy. But there is significant variability between patients and even the most skilled clinician can never guarantee not to cause a bruise when delivering your ‘tweakment’

For this reason, we will ALWAYS consent you for the risk of bruising so please do not schedule your injectable appointment within 10-14 days of a big event.

There are also things you can do to minimise the risk, by avoiding the following in the days before your appointment:
Alcohol
Caffeine
NSAIDS (eg. Aspirin/Ibuprofen)
St John’s Wort
Ginkgo biloba
Vitamin E
Garlic
Flax
Ginseng

Please make sure you don’t stop any anticoagulants prescribed by your doctor - if in doubt, just ask us!

Bruising is normal and temporary. Just because we’ve never bruised you before, despite taking all precautions, it does not guarantee we won’t in future.

If you do bruise:
Apply a cold compress to reduce swelling
Avoid strenuous exercise/alcohol/NSAIDs for a few days
Use Arnica gel
Concealer
Be grateful your body is healing!
