Hello, I’m based in Haslemere and offer yoga, Reiki, meditation, EFT (tapping) and other gentle practices that support a sense of wellbeing, calm and ease.

Life has many twists and turns, and over the years I’ve seen how the beautiful practice of yoga can help us navigate both the ups and the downs — helping us come back to a place of calm, grounding and clarity, while also supporting a body that feels strong yet soft and flexible.

How would it feel to take a little time just for you? To pause, breathe and reconnect with yourself.

If you feel called, you’d be very welcome to join one of my classes, or book a 1:1 Reiki or EFT session. I’d love to work with you. Please pm or email angelathompsonyoga@gmail.com or www.angelathompsonyoga.co.uk.

Grounding — science and somatics

I’ve been talking about grounding in class recently.

Here’s the science bit:

The earth carries a natural negative electrical charge. When we stand barefoot on grass, soil or sand, there is a subtle exchange of electrons between our bodies and the ground. Some small clinical studies suggest this may help regulate inflammation, improve heart rate variability (a marker of nervous system balance), support sleep and reduce perceived stress.

Research is still evolving — but it’s fascinating.

And then there’s the felt experience.

Stand barefoot on the earth for 10 minutes and notice:

Your breath deepens.
Your jaw softens.
Your thoughts slow down.

Most of us live insulated — rubber soles, raised buildings, constant stimulation. We rarely touch the ground beneath us.

Perhaps the body remembers something the mind has forgotten.

In yoga, grounding isn’t only about electrons.
It’s about weight through the feet.
Exhaling fully.
Feeling supported.
Being the moment.

If you can this week, step outside barefoot — even briefly — and see what shifts. Let me know how you get on!

A new term of yoga begins tomorrow – 23rd February.

Classes in Milland, Grayshott, Godalming, Hindhead and on Zoom.

If you’d like to move gently, breathe deeply and reset your nervous system as we move towards spring, you’re very welcome to join us.

Each class weaves together mindful flowing movement, simple breath practices and guided relaxation to ease tightness, release tension and leave you feeling calmer and more at ease.

I’ve been teaching for 12 years and gently integrate yoga with relaxation techniques such as EFT (tapping), Reiki, crystals and sound healing — creating space not just to find ease in the body, but to settle the whole system.

My intention is simple: that you leave feeling better than when you arrived… in whatever way that means for you that day.

Why not come along and try a class- I'd love to see you?!

£15 drop-in
£13 with a class pass

I teach meditative flowing classes  working to bring about a sense of calm and balance as well as re-energising and improving strength and flexibility.

Spring Seasonal Gathering – Friday 24th April (6.00–8.30pm) near Chiddingfold

I’ve been creating the idea of a new, very exciting, seasonal offering and am looking forward to sharing it.

An evening to pause and reset with the energy of spring.

We’ll begin with gentle EFT to clear and settle, move into simple mindful movement, and then soften into restorative yoga — creating space to release what feels heavy and allow fresh energy to emerge, just as the season invites.

After our practice, we’ll gather around the table for a nourishing, seasonally inspired plant-based meal, prepared by a local chef. The food will reflect the lightness and vitality of spring.

This will be a small, welcoming group — a chance not only to practise, but to connect, enjoy good food and spend a relaxed, uplifting evening in a beautiful space.

Friday 24th April
6.00–8.30pm
Introductory price £45

Spaces will be limited. If this speaks to you, please comment below or message me and I’ll send booking details.

I love teaching chair yoga and have taught over 2,500 classes over the past few years. I’m in the middle of planning a Spring Chair Yoga workshop for teachers — exploring seasonal themes, chair sequences and ways of keeping classes feeling varied through the year.
