🐝 Bites & Stings 🪰

Insect bites and stings are common, especially in warmer weather! Here’s what to do:

✅ Treat at Home:
• Wash the area with soap and water, carefully remove any remnant stings.
• Apply a cold compress (like an ice pack wrapped in a cloth) for 10 minutes to reduce swelling.
• Use anti-histamine creams or tablets for itching, and avoid scratching to prevent infection.
• Use Paracetamol for pain relief.

🚨 Come to the Pharmacy or Seek Advice If:
• The area becomes red, swollen, and increasingly painful after a few days — signs it may be infected.
• You notice pus, warmth, or a fever develops.
• You’re unsure if it’s healing properly — we’re here to help!

We can assess infected bites and stings and may provide antibiotic treatment where appropriate!

🦠 Measles Cases on the Rise in Cheshire & Merseyside 🦠

We’re seeing an increase in measles cases across our region. Measles is highly contagious and can lead to serious health complications, especially in young children and vulnerable adults.

✅ Check your MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination status.
✅ If you’re unsure about your vaccination history, check your online NHS records or speak to your GP practice
✅ Look out for symptoms: high fever, cough, runny nose, sore eyes, followed by a rash.

Find out about measles, a highly infectious viral illness that can be very unpleasant and sometimes lead to serious complications.

Due to operational issues caused by freezing temperatures at our hub facility, prescriptions expected in our morning delivery (usually to be collected this afternoon) are not arriving until after 4pm today.

If you are expecting to collect a prescription arriving this afternoon and can wait until Monday, that would be much appreciated.

However, we will not leave anyone without medication, if you need the medication urgently we will do our upmost to dispense this in-branch.
