Even when we're not on a herb walk or at a workshop, it is still always about the herbs. I was lucky enough to visit the and saw this wonderful stone stamp used to mark eye ointments. This particular one was for Saffron. Even more amazing is they were using this herbal remedy between the 1st and 3rd century!!!! Herbs have certainly stood the test of time!

Happy Summer Solstice! ✨

We started the day with a fabulous herb walk in Alexandra Park. Thank you so much everyone for celebrating this special event with us, your company made it such an enjoyable walk - we hope you enjoyed it too. 💚

We then spent a very nice afternoon enjoying the warmth and Lindy Hops at the Crowhurst Summer Fayre - and thank you to everyone who came to see us in our little gazebo! 🌱

What a wonderful day we had at Battle Sussex Day Market! Thank so much to everyone who made it such a success - the organisers, Battle Chamber of Commerce, all the amazing stallholders and participants, the sunshine and also all the people - and dogs - who visited! We loved every moment! We hope you did too! ✨

Today, see's the start of International Men's Health Week! This is both physical and mental health. In the throws of such busy lives, it can be too easy to put off check ups, or just "keep going." But this week is a reminder to put your health first. Don't put it off. Don't deal with it later. Be the best version of you!

Tomorrow is officially National Fish and Chips Day 2025! Traditionally, battered fish and chips are seasoned with yummy salt and pepper with a slice of lemon and a bit of parsley for garnish. But if batter is not your thing, there are plenty of sensational herb and spice combinations to use on roasted or pan-fried dishes, and with plenty of vegan options available, everyone can celebrate!!!!
So get you fish on!

Although you wouldn't know it from the weather at the moment but summer is here!
But as they say: no rain, no flowers - or even herbs! 🌱

This month it's a tale of two markets and a walk for us.

We'll be at Battle Sussex Day Market (15 June), Alexandra Park for our ✨ SOLD OUT ✨ Solstice Herb Walk (21 June) and then Crowhurst Summer Fayre (21 June).

Our Summer Solstice Walk has sold out!!!!! But don't worry, there are still lots of herby shenanigans to get involved in over the coming months!
We have more workshops and lots of summer fayre's and, of course, our September herb walk, to name a few. Just make sure to keep an eye on our social media for upcoming events and dates.

We are keeping our fingers crossed for some glorious weather on our next herb walk! Join us at Manor Barn at 10 am on Saturday, 31st May, for a relaxing wander around the gardens while you learn all about the herbs you walk past on your doorstep. As always, we will be trying teas and tincture, and there is a leaflet with bags of information about the plants we see.

It was our first time at the Meads Makers Market May Arts and Crafts Fair on Sunday and we're sure it won't be our last! ✨

Thank you so much to the organisers and to everyone who stopped by and supported our little stall, it was lovely to meet you all and chat about the herbs - oh and the tea strainers!

So it's officially Be Nice to Nettles week - a time to celebrate all the wonderful virtues of this green 'w**d' 🌱

Did you know they are very nutritious, full of vitamins and minerals? And can help alleviate the pain of arthritis? And also help reduce hayfever symptoms? Or that you can soothe itchy skin with a Nettle cream? ✨

They are also great to cook with and make a tasty soup! And would you also believe a beautifully green nettle cake! Just look at what some talented members of the Ninfield Horticultural Society cooked up! Aren't they amazing? 😋

We hope you are going to be nice to those Nettles this week! 🌱
