As a small, independent business, that kind of misinformation can have a real impact, so we’re very grateful for the correction and for everyone who checked in, shared kind words, and showed their support. 🧡

We’re heading into the new year feeling hugely encouraged, backed by an incredible community, and very much open for business on Hastings Pier.

Our Nordic Sauna never felt SO authentic!! 🌨️❄️

We have just one 1hr private session at 12.15 tomorrow (Saturday) and 2 spots in the 1.5hr communal at 6pm if you fancy soaking up some heat in the sauna this weekend.

Our updated Winter sauna schedule for January is officially open with later evenings, extra weekend sessions, and more flexibility to help you settle into a winter rhythm and New Year’s resolutions that actually feel good.

What’s happening
Our landlords have submitted a wider planning application for Hastings Pier.

As part of this, Samphire Sauna is included, and we’ve provided detailed information to support the case for the sauna to remain in its much-loved spot on the pier.

The council is now reviewing the application, and they want to hear from the community.

How YOU can help:
If Samphire Sauna has become part of your routine, supported your wellbeing, helped you through winter or simply brought you joy by the sea… your voice can make a real difference.

The council considers public comments when reviewing applications. Supportive comments help demonstrate the value of the sauna to the community.

New to the sauna? Here’s how to get the most out of your session:

• Hydrate beforehand… and during… and after!  • Eat lightly before you come; avoid big heavy meals  • Arrive a few minutes early to meet your Sauna host, get a tour of the site, get change and store you valuables in one of our lockers  • Pack the essentials… water, two towels swim shoes or flip flops. Moisturiser, warm clothes & hat for after
• Take breaks between rounds - heat, cool, relax repeat • Drink plenty post-sauna
