What an achievement!

Our Co-op members set themselves the goal of planning a trip to London- and they made it happen!

After 5 weeks of teamwork, budgeting, and organisation, they enjoyed a fantastic day out in the city to see Matilda the Musical in theatre 💫

Rebecca said "My favourite part was seeing the show, I enjoyed learning how to organise a trip and next time I would like to go to Brighton."

This experience not only celebrated their hard work and independence but also built confidence, life skills, and unforgettable memories together 😊

Working towards our goals!

This block, Simon, Clio, and Joe are focusing on becoming more independent by learning how to make a delicious chicken wrap from scratch- all the way from shopping for the ingredients to preparing the meal themselves.

Over the next few weeks, they’ll practice each step with support, building their confidence and skills before completing the whole process independently.

Over the past few months, our Co-op members have been exploring a variety of beautiful walks across East Sussex.

Along the way, they’ve been discovering the history and accessibility of each route, gathering stories and insights to share. This block, they’re bringing it all together to create their very own Walk Book- a guide for others to enjoy and explore these wonderful local walks, including information about disability access.

They are all very excited to share! 😊

Some of our DBS members got together and enjoyed a fun day out pumpkin picking. They came back to The Hub and carved their pumpkins to take home 😊

Autumn strolls and good company! 🍂

Some of our DBS members enjoyed a beautiful Autumnal walk at Bedgebury Pinetum- a chance to spend time with friends and embrace the fresh seasonal air together 😊

We are getting organised! 🎄

Over the next few weeks some of our Co-op members will be testing and trialling some different stuffing flavours ready for our Christmas Dinner.

This week’s creation was classic- sage and onion stuffing balls. They are now tucked away in the freezer ready to be cooked.

Next week’s flavour will be a festive favourite... chestnut and orange! 🍊

Some of our DBS members had an exciting visit to our local police station this week.

They got the chance to try on real police uniforms, explore the vehicles, see the lights and sirens in action, and enjoy a friendly chat with local officers.

This hands-on visit was a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the important work our police do, build positive community connections, and of course have lots of fun along the way! 😊

Cammy enjoyed a trip to the Butterfly village at Middleton Common Farm, finishing the day with an ice cream in the café.

Cammy said “I liked seeing all the different butterflies.” 🦋

Members at the Co-op like to give back to the community. As part of this, sometimes they go out as a nice surprise to tidy up some areas.

Recently they chose Warrior Square Gardens and the area outside The Hub.

We hope the local community enjoys their lovely tidy spaces 😊
