Marking a new chapter together 💛

On Maundy Thursday, members and staff from across Co-op and DBS services came together at The Hub to recognise a change in roles for two of our managers.

With tea, hot cross buns, games and a few hunts, it was a chance to spend time together, reflect on the occasion, and look ahead to the future.

A simple but meaningful way to come together as a community, and thank the managers for all they have done! 🙂

We’re open as usual Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 3:00pm, and from Saturday 25th April through to Saturday 25th July, we’ll also be open on Saturdays from 9:00am – 1:00pm.

Out and about, building confidence every step of the way 🚆🚌

Our members have been taking part in travel training — learning how to plan journeys, organise routes, and buy their own tickets. These small steps make a big difference.

There’s been plenty of teamwork, encouragement, and proud moments along the way, as everyone grows in confidence and independence. We love seeing our members gaining the skills to explore more of their world 💛

April is National Autism Awareness Month 💙

This month is a time not only to raise awareness, but to celebrate difference and promote true acceptance.

This year’s theme, “From Surviving to Thriving: Building Neuro-Inclusive Futures”, reminds us how important it is to show up for one another and create environments where autistic people are understood, valued and empowered to flourish.

At Parchment Trust, we are proud to support a space where every individual’s strengths, talents and perspectives are recognised and nurtured. Inclusion is not just something we talk about — it’s in our DNA!

Let’s continue to promote awareness, acceptance and kindness — not just in April, but every day.

A regular part of life at Parchment Trust ⛳

During Block 2, members have enjoyed spending time at the driving range — practising their swing, developing hand-eye coordination, and cheering each other on.
Some of the sessions have focussed on using the 9 iron and pitching wedge to improve our short game.
Like so much of what we do as a Co-operative, it’s about shared experiences, encouragement, and everyone having the chance to take part and develop at their own pace. 💛

Music and dancing were at the heart of what he loved, so they’ll be celebrating his life in a way that truly reflects his spirit.

This year’s theme, “Together Against Loneliness” – Belonging, Connection and Community, is something that really speaks to us.

Everyone deserves to feel that they belong — to feel welcomed, valued, included and part of something meaningful. For people with Down’s Syndrome, true belonging isn’t just about being present, it’s about being connected, heard and appreciated for who you are.

At Parchment Trust, community is at the heart of everything we do. We have the privilege of seeing every day how friendships grow, confidence builds and people thrive when they feel they genuinely belong. That sense of connection can make all the difference, not just to our members, but their families and our staff team 💛

Today is a reminder to reach out, include others, and continue nurturing spaces where no one feels alone. Together, we are always stronger.
