๐Ÿ’ญ Sian's Tuesday Thought of the Day ๐Ÿฆ‹
Here we are again, reaching the middle of the month at breakneck speed. I find myself banging on about the time flying by constantly, much to the frustration of those around me! Recent family celebrations and all the other birthdays and anniversary's we have this month, have made me even more nostalgic and wondering where the years have gone. With the world we are living in now, is it any wonder that the time passes by so quickly though? There is always something for us to be doing, always somewhere we need to be and always the need to be planning ahead to make sure we are able to fit everything in that we have set for ourselves to do.
Of course, this isn't really anything new, I mean the saying "time flies when you're having fun" first recorded around the 1800's, has been linked to the Latin phrase Tempus fugit (time flees) which appeared around 29 BC, in Virgil's, Georgics poem. People throughout the centuries have been saying how quickly time passes ๐Ÿ˜‚.
So my thought for today, is based on a quote from the late, great Muhammad Ali "Don't count the days: make the days count." Let's make sure we stop focusing on the days gone by and time rushing past us and start to concentrate on enjoying every day as it comes and appreciating the fact that we are still here to make the most of them all. Always remember to take the time to immerse yourselves in the beauty surrounding you every day.

๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿ‘ A wonderful Easter treat at Derwent as we welcomed back Pet Pals Therapy ! It was lovely to see their adorable 2-week-old chicks and 1-week-old lambs, who brought so much joy to our residents.

Spending time with these gentle little animals created such a warm and uplifting atmosphere, making it a truly special seasonal visit. Moments like these always mean so much and are a highlight for everyone involved.

A big thank you to Pet Pals for another memorable visit and for helping make our Easter celebrations extra special ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿฃ

๐Ÿ’ญSian's Tuesday Thought of the Day๐Ÿฆ‹
I hope you all had a great few days off with your family and friends celebrating Easter, the only time of the year when it is socially acceptable to eat chocolate for breakfast, lunch and dinner ๐Ÿ˜€.
I used to love hiding the Easter eggs for my son to find on Easter Sunday morning, never questioning why this was the done thing. The Easter Bunny being another legend who only visits during the night when all the children are sleeping. The things we do to create a magical world for ourselves and our children...but nothing beats the excitement and the looks of wonder and awe when the eggs are found and proudly displayed.
Easter of course, is more than just about the chocolate. The eggs symbolising new life and the Bunny (or Hare) has been associated with rebirth and seasonal renewal since pre-Christian Europe. Whatever your beliefs, the joy of celebrating a new life, or new beginnings, is something we can all appreciate and share in. The hopes and dreams we create when we embark on new beginnings help us to keep moving forward with purpose. We all need to have something to look forward to and work towards to help us feel we are here for a reason and we matter.
So, in the spirit of the Easter weekend, my thought for today is taken from a quote from Basil E Hume - "The great gift of Easter is hope". Let's all embrace this greatest Easter gift and carry it forward with us for the rest of the year.

Wishing you a very happy Easter from us all in Cedarwood House and Derwent Care Home.

Did you know your brain is always a few seconds behind? ๐Ÿง

Everything we see is actually built from the last 15 seconds of visual information, helping the world feel smooth and steady rather than jumpy or overwhelming. Itโ€™s the brainโ€™s clever way of keeping things consistent for us.

Just another reminder of how incredible (and complex!) the brain really is ๐Ÿ’™
