Ever found yourself thinking, ‘I deserve this time…’ and suddenly it’s midnight… and you’re caught in a reel-scrolling spiral?

That’s 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐁𝐞𝐝𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (and it’s not about laziness or poor time management).

It’s what happens when your brain has been ‘on’ all day.

Anxiety doesn’t always look how people expect it to look.

You can be high-functioning, capable and outwardly calm - and still experience overthinking, intrusive thoughts or constant internal tension.

This is because anxiety is rooted in the nervous system. When the brain’s threat response is overactive, it can stay switched on even when life appears stable.

Understanding the science behind anxiety reduces shame. It shifts the narrative from ‘What’s wrong with me?’ ➡️ ‘My brain is trying to protect me.’

The goal isn’t to eliminate anxiety completely (because it’s a natural human emotion which keeps us safe) but we can certainly dial it down so that you can feel happier, more confident and able to tackle what life throws at you.

Today’s view = me, tucked behind my laptop doing CPD training on PTSD 🧠

As a Clinical Hypnotherapist specialising in anxiety, trauma responses and overwhelm, staying up to date with the latest neuroscience isn’t optional - it’s essential.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is grounded in neuroscience, so as the research evolves, so does my practice.

I genuinely love learning (masters in Psychology over here 🤓).

But ongoing Continuing Professional Development is also part of my commitment as a registered member of the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council, and the National Council for Hypnotherapy.

I have to complete a required number of CPD hours each year to maintain professional and ethical standards.

If I’m supporting you - or your teenager - with anxiety, stress, PTSD or emotional overwhelm, you deserve someone who understands the brain based on 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 evidence, not outdated theory from a dusty textbook.

Tomorrow you officially have cultural permission to not do any housework… 👀

❌ No sweeping, no cleaning, no tackling the washing pile that’s been silently judging you from the corner.

It’s believed that sweeping on Chinese New Year means you’re sweeping away your luck and prosperity for the year ahead… and honestly, who are we to argue with this 😉

So if anyone asks, you’re not procrastinating… you’re protecting your finances.

Little update from me - my website is currently down due to some tech updates (it’s been one of 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘦 weeks with tech issues 🙈)

The powers that be are working behind the scenes to get everything back up and running, and it should hopefully be live again by the weekend.
