Not even the rain could dampen the spirits at Baldock Manor’s Christmas Fair this week.

Staff, service users and carers celebrated with hot chocolate, pizza, hot dogs, and sweet treats to keep warm, which were given out by Santa. Service users also put together a playlist of songs to keep spirits high and festive, plus singing carols together.

Special guest Santa was also joined by our therapy ponies who dressed for the occasion in their Christmas outfits. It was a fun and festive day which saw service users and staff from different wards bought together to enjoy the Christmas Fair together.

A huge shout out to Molly Clark, our Therapeutic Activities Coordinator & Art Therapist, for arranging this amazing event and making it so special, and to the Therapies team for their support.

Throughout this week we’ve been celebrating more 10-year workiversaries, with Rorie, Eugen, Yemi and Chantelle all hitting the milestone recently.

Rorie is a Support Worker at Winnett Cottage who joined at 18 years old after having just won the HCPA Apprentice of the Year Award. Rorie is now 28 years old and continues to be a great asset to the team and service users - Always positive, kind and funny.

Eugen is a Support Worker from Eltisley Manor, and Chantelle began her time at Nouvita as a Support Worker and is now the Deputy Manager at Greenwood and is very dedicated, passionate and caring. While Yemi is Clinical Service Manager at Baldock Manor, who has helped to ‘steer the ship’ at Baldock Manor.

Thank you all of you for the years of service, you’re all a great asset to Nouvita and the people in your care.

This month’s Baldock Manor Brilliance Award of the month goes to Bolla Poornima. Congratulations and well deserved.

Bolla is a support worker, who patients said is a friendly presence who helps them feel supported and cared for. While staff said that Bolla is flexible - working whichever ward she is asked to work on and does it with a smile - and supports teams all across the hospital without fuss.

Bolla is a great asset to Nouvita and we’re pleased to have her as part of the team.

Yesterday we celebrated our Registered Manager, Emma’s, 10-year workiversary! Led by our CEO, Phil, the team got together to celebrate this milestone and Emma’s incredible impact.

Joining us as Support Worker at The Coach House, Emma found herself drawn to the work, the residents, and the meaningful relationships formed through everyday care and over the years has worked her way up to Registered Manager at Howe Dell Manor and has grown into an outstanding leader; one whose commitment is visible in every corner of the home.

We’re so pleased to have you part of Nouvita, Emma. Thank you for your many years of dedicated service. We look forward to seeing what the next 10 years brings!

Yesterday, staff from across Nouvita donned their festive best for Christmas Jumper Day. From bold knits to brilliantly questionable designs, our teams brought plenty of colour, fun and festive spirit to our services, while raising awareness for an important seasonal cause. It was a great reminder of the warmth, togetherness and good humour that sit at the heart of our culture.
