Dolphin Homes

Dolphin Homes Delivering first class quality care and support are at the foundation of everything we offer.

We were founded in 1988 with the aim of providing high quality accommodation, care, assistance and support for people within the South East of England and started out with a residential care home for the elderly. In 2004 Dolphin Homes extended its range of services when it opened Myrtle Cottage, in Emsworth, its first home for adults with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour. OUR MISSION

We shall continue to develop our expertise in providing both general and specialist services to meet continuing care demands whilst demonstrating a level of flexibility to meet changing market needs. Our professional team of staff will continue to focus on developing standards of excellence in all of our homes, whilst our company will remain committed to our personnel, supporting their professional development through training and career progression. As a result of achieving our service person centred objectives, Dolphin Homes will be recognised as the leading provider of learning disability care services in the South of England.

What is Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)?

It’s more than a framework – PBS is about helping people live happier, more independent, and fulfilling lives.

At Dolphin Homes, PBS means:
✨ Person-centred support
✨ Dignity and respect at the heart of care
✨ Reducing behaviours of concern through proactive strategies
✨ Building confidence, communication, and wellbeing

We’re proud that our PBS Practitioner, Trudy Perkins, even designs her own certified courses – like Trauma Informed Care – to keep our staff skilled and confident.

👉 PBS = Better Lives.

On 8th August, the Dolphin community came together for one of our favourite days of the year - the Dolphin Olympics!

From fun activities and team games to plenty of cheering and laughter, the day was filled with smiles, sunshine and a good bbq. Everyone gave their best effort, whether they were competing, supporting from the sidelines, or helping to organise the events.

A huge thank you to our amazing staff and volunteers for making the day run so smoothly, and to the people we support for showing such enthusiasm and sportsmanship. 💙

Here’s to another year of fun and a splash of healthy competition, roll on Dolphin Olympics 2026! 🥇

Unfortunately, we can't put all of the photos but these are just a few of Dolphin's favourites!

We always strive to uphold the highest standard of care so it’s especially meaningful when our amazing care workers and their efforts are recognised even in everyday moments.

We recently recieved an email from members of the public that encountered our amazing staff and this is what they had to say:

“My husband and I were having coffee in Boswells cafe last Saturday morning. Behind us was a member of your team who was escorting one of your residents (I worked this out from the lanyard she was wearing).

We were sat at a nearby table and I just wanted to say how impressed I was with your member of staff. She was being so pleasant to your resident, treating him with respect and engaging him in conversation, asking him what he wanted to do and chatting away so naturally. You could see she was genuinely interested in him. Having had recent experience of ‘care’ providers, it’s sad to say, but not all of them care. Your young lady was confident and kind and really stood out as an incredible example of how care should be.

I commented to my husband and he agreed. It’s probably rare to get positive feedback, especially from a random member of the public, but I felt I had to comment as your young lady was so lovely and definitely deserves some recognition and praise. She’s a great advert for your business.”

Imagine if every day, people walked into your space without knocking. They talked over you, made decisions for you, and moved your things without asking. They spoke like they were at work, not in your home. What if your voice was ignored because someone else had a schedule to stick to?

What if your home, the one place that should feel safe and personal, started to feel like it belonged to everyone but you?

It's not just about manners. It's about respect, dignity, and choice.

This August, we’re asking everyone to reflect:
How would you feel if your home stopped feeling like home?

Let’s do better. Let’s see the person, not just the task.

Today is National Disability Independence day! This day is all about recognising and celebrating the right of people with disabilities to live independently, with choice, control, and dignity.

At Dolphin Homes, we’re proud to stand alongside the individuals we support on their journey towards greater independence. From providing truly personalised care to helping people develop life skills and access the opportunities and resources they need, we’re committed to making a positive difference every single day.

Here’s to championing independence, inclusion, and the belief that everyone deserves to live life their way.

Today at 2pm, we stand with care providers across the UK as The Backbone of Care premieres - a powerful new film shining a light on the urgent need for recognition, fair pay, and sustainable funding for social care.

Filmed over the past few months, this moving documentary captures the raw stories of care workers, individuals receiving care, and families the true backbone of our community.

At Dolphin Homes, we know first-hand how vital our sector is, and we fully support the movement in calling for real change.

Watch the film and share it!

Whether it’s a friendly chat with a colleague, speaking to one of our Freedom to Speak Up Champions, or reaching out to professional support like Samaritans, Mind, or your GP. Please remember help is always here.
