MENINGITIS

Good evening.
Understandably we have had a lot of queries about the Meningitis outbreak in Kent and in particular patients requesting to have the Meningitis B Vaccination. In Wales the Men B vaccine is routinely offered to babies at 8 weeks of age, 12 weeks of age and 12-13 months of age. At this moment in time there is no vaccination process for children or adults outside of these age groups. Men B for children over the of 2 years and/or adults can be sourced privately, unless the person is in an at risk group and we would then be guided by the patient’s consultant. Diweddariad 18 Mawrth 2026 – Cangen Meddygfa Penrhyn yn Nhŷ Shalom | Update 18 March 2026 – Meddygfa Penrhyn branch surgery at Shalom House

Mae Bwrdd Iechyd Prifysgol Hywel Dda ac Ymddiriedolwyr Tŷ Shalom wedi cytuno ar estyniad prydles tymor byr pellach ar gyfer y feddygfa gangen yn Nhyddewi.
Mae'r estyniad newydd hwn yn golygu y bydd cleifion Meddygfa Penrhyn yn gallu parhau i gael mynediad at wasanaethau o Dŷ Shalom tan 30 Mehefin 2026. Mae'r feddygfa gangen yn cynnig gwasanaethau dan arweiniad nyrsys ar foreau dydd Llun i ddydd Gwener, yn bennaf profion gwaed; bydd angen i bob claf sy'n dymuno gweld Meddyg Teulu barhau i fynychu prif safle Meddygfa Penrhyn yn Solfach.
Mae'r Bwrdd Iechyd yn parhau i fod yn ddiolchgar i Ymddiriedolwyr Tŷ Shalom am eu hyblygrwydd a'u cefnogaeth barhaus.

Hywel Dda University Health Board and the Trustees of Shalom House have agreed a further short term lease extension for the branch surgery in St Davids.
This new extension means patients of Meddygfa Penrhyn will be able to continue accessing services from Shalom House until 30 June 2026. The branch surgery offers nurse-led services on weekday mornings, mainly blood tests; all patients wishing to see a GP will need to continue to attend the main Meddygfa Penrhyn site in Solva.
The Health Board remains grateful to the Trustees of Shalom House for their continued flexibility and support.
