Tuesday 19th August, we're at the West End Church Withersfield Road Haverhill CB9 9LA, FREE parking on site or nearby car park if it's full. We are five volunteers down, so unfortunately, there will be no lunch! Please bring your own packed lunch!

Hot & cold drinks & biscuits provided as normal☕🥤🍪🌰

The group is for anyone with memory loss conditions, their carers & their family. At just £2 pp, which covers drinks with a refill & biscuits, it's affordable for all, is a safe place & good for socialising.

Run totally by volunteers, who are all experienced caring for people with dementia type conditions, it's a lifeline to our many members!

If anyone is interested in finding out about being one of our lovely volunteers,[ you don't need to be available every week or even for the whole session.] Call in, meet everyone, have a coffee & see for yourself what makes us such a special group of individuals.

We'll also be at Haverhill Show on Saturday, 30th August, with a tombola & hundreds of prizes! See our fantastic volunteers there!

TUESDAY 12TH AUGUST we're back at the West End Church, in Withersfield Road Haverhill CB9 9LA from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm.

We're an amazing dementia club, that's suitable not just for people with memory loss conditions, BUT ALSO for their carers & family members too!

This week it's CURLING without the ice!🥶Great gentle exercise & suitable for just about anyone, however severe the condition may be.

We charge just £2 per visit BUT that includes hot or cold drinks, FREE refill, biscuits, a slice of cake when celebrating birthdays & all activities!

If you are looking for the most worthwhile role as a local volunteer we are waiting for YOU to pop in, have a coffee, and meet us all.

Come & say hello to us at Haverhill Show. We'll be there, ready to go with a tombola, Saturday 30th August from 10:00☕Will you?

With almost 1,000,000 people in the UK with a dementia type condition, do you care for someone who has this debilitating disability? Maybe someone in your family has been diagnosed recently? We will 'be there for you,' show you that a caring role is something that you can do, and we'll make you a much happier carer just by building your confidence!

What an AMAZING performance on Tuesday by Martin, our marvellous music man.😎🎤🎸

He sang and played NON-STOP for the whole session, requests from a huge repertoire of well-known hits, from Paul Weller to Ronan Keating & just everything in between, from our appreciative musical members.

' Martin, please come back soon & play some more. The huge, happy smiles on the faces of our members were radiant.' 🙂🤩🎼

Tuesday 29th July we are back at the West End Congregational Church, Withersfield Road, Haverhill CB9 9LA from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm.

Our fabulous group is for anyone living with DEMENTIA or any memory-loss-related condition, members of their family or their carers.

At just £2 per person per week, which includes hot & cold drinks, biscuits, and a slice of cake on birthdays, as well as all activities & Entertainment taking place! Incredible value for money.

Run totally by volunteers, if you're in a position of wanting to assist us, we would LOVE to meet you, pop in, have a cuppa & meet us☕

This week, we are fortunate to have Martin revisit, to sing & play his guitar. A great hit with everyone last time, & he wants to return & entertain us🎤🎼🎸Are we all in fine voice? I hope so😎

Withersfield Carpet Bowls Club held a Bowls 4s Tournament & Fun Day at Thomas Gainsborough School in Sudbury to raise money for Haverhill's Dementia Clubs. Held on Sunday, June 22nd, a cheque for the massive amount of £805 [ our 1/2 share of the amount raised ] was recently handed over from Susan Human of both Withersfield Carpet Bowls Club & Terrific Tuesday Dementia Club, to the main organiser of the Terrific Tuesday Dementia Club, Dennis Wendell, both of whom are featured in the photo.
The money was raised by 14 teams entering the tournament, paying a fee, by selling raffle tickets for over 100 donated prizes, £1 in the bucket & a target mat. Money was also made from the sale of cakes & refreshments during the day & fabulous BBQ selling burgers, sausages & bacon rolls.
' It was tremendous fun & we were able to make more money than we ever dreamed possible. Huge thanks go to everyone who donated or assisted in making this great event possible,' said Sue.

An amazing group that offers a great deal to the community, run by volunteers with years of hands-on experience dealing with dementia.

This book, released today, must be worth reading! For any family carer dealing with a loved one who is living with Alzheimer's❤️

'I hope this book can show people a little about what it is like to live with Alzheimer’s. How frightening and confusing it is. But also how much life can still bring joy and be valued.'

Fiona Phillips first announced she was living with dementia back in 2023. Now in her book, 'Remember When: My life with Alzheimer's', Fiona and her husband Martin share an important insight into what it's like to live with dementia.

We’re so grateful to our Ambassador Fiona for sharing her story in this way to raise much needed awareness of dementia.
