We saw a post on Hawick chat recently about some pharmacies not having the capacity to recycle empty medication blisters. Just a reminder that we offer this service for free at Crosby's and have done so for a while. 😀

Due to the mix of materials, this has to be done by specialist companies and cannot be done via kerbside recycling. But please remove all cardboard and paper for your own recycling first as we don't have the capacity to take everyone's paper/cardboard.

Just a reminder that we are open as normal on Easter Monday.
The new 8:30AM opening time on weekdays is also proving popular with people who have had an early appointment at their surgery or are just up and about in the morning, so we are going to keep it 😀.

We heard that there are fake £10 and £20 notes in circulation locally. Urging members of the public and local businesses to be vigilant.

We have decided to go ahead with a trial of opening at 8:30 AM on weekdays 😀.
Starting next week, Crosby's will be open at 8:30 AM Mon-Fri.
Our Saturday hours will remain the same, 9 AM - 12 PM

We are thinking about trialing longer opening hours. I.E. opening at 8:30AM on weekdays.
So, 8:30AM - 6PM Mon-Fri (no lunchtime closure)
9AM - 12PM Sat
Longer opening hours obviously comes with an increase in running costs, so, we would like to hear opinions as to whether people would use our services then.
Our thinking is that the surgeries are open earlier than all the pharmacies locally and there will be people that will find it convenient to get a prescription dispensed or collect something before they might start work etc. themselves.
It's also a time of day when it's usually easy for the public to get a parking space on North Bridge Street - before people abandon their cars there all day long!
Please comment your thoughts and opinions.
p.s. No, Crosby's staff do NOT leave their cars on North Bridge Street before anyone asks!

Thought of the day - What's the worst workplace etiquette? Egg sandwiches rank quite high at Crosby's. However, I think there should be immediate disciplinary procedures brought against those that leave shared computers with the caps lock on 😂 . mY EMAILS TEND TO START LIKE THIS!! aND PASSWORDS DON'T WORK! Tired of NHS waiting lists or having to travel to Edinburgh for a private travel clinic?
Borders Travel Clinic is now live and operating out of Crosby's in Hawick.
Malaria prevention, travel vaccines and jet lag treatments available.
Consultations are FREE with no obligation to go ahead with treatments.
We are hoping to see people from all over the Borders, so we'd appreciate people sharing this post to get the word out there as many people in other Border towns won't follow the Crosby's page.
Please note, this is a private service and by appointment only due to the length of the consultations. We are still working on the website, but the service is up and running 😀

T.N. Crosby chemist was established in Hawick in 1951 by pharmacist Tom Crosby. It remains the only independent, locally owned and family run community pharmacy in Hawick. It is also still run by the same family - now onto the third generation of community pharmacists. All NHS pharmaceutical services are available here and we are also the home of Trinity ointment®.
