This is a controversial but important post, worth a read regarding your ear health and safety.

Your ears are so incredibly delicate, intricate and complicated and you only get them once.

Ear wax removal is an unregulated procedure in the United Kingdom, meaning anyone, your school teacher, your milkman, your local aesthetics etc can perform it all without ever looking in a real ear before. This is not to say these people aren't fantastic at their jobs, but they are (presumably) not ear health professionals.

Without the correct knowledge, you could;
- Be misinformed about the reason for your hearing loss.
- Suffer a perforated ear drum or other damage to the ear.
- Have a more serious underlying problem missed.
- Suffer additional loss to your hearing.

Booking an ear wax removal, and not having any wax to remove does not mean there was not a problem, additional tests such as tympanometry and a hearing test may need to be performed to identify the issue. Some tests can legally only be performed by Audiology professionals.

It is so important that you can confidently say your clinician is one or more of the following;
- A HCPC registered Hearing Aid Dispenser/Audiologist
- Has a degree in Audiology
- A doctor or nurse WITH specialisation in ENT
- Or a supervised trainee/student in one of those fields.

Thank you for reading,
Alex (HCPC Registered Hearing Aid Audiologist at Delooze Hearing)

**Seems to be all working now**

Hi All,

Unfortunately our internet provider seems to be having some issues and we have lost internet and our phones are down. Seems to be happening across multiple towns.

Hopefully back up and running soon!

Call now to connect with business.

As many of us do, we say 'New Year, New Me'.. so why not start with your ears.

If you have experienced dullness to your hearing, crackling, a blocked feeling, intermittent hearing. - it could be as simple as an ear wax build up, which we can remove for you.

On the other hand, if you have been saying 'What?' a lot, being told you need your hearing tested, or notice a decline in your hearing personally. - you may have a hearing loss, we can fully test your hearing to figure out why this is happening and even dispense and fit you with hearing aids should you need them.

Call, book online, or pop into the clinic to have your ears checked. Same day appointments are usually available.

Happy new year from my family and I! Here’s to a great 2026 for all. Thank you for your continued support. 🎉🍾

Appreciation Post!

Well that’s us been open for 3 days now, great response from everyone, massively appreciated.

I recently saw a post on some Borders pages regarding shopping local, which is always fantastic to do, but I noticed there was some comments regarding local businesses not shopping local; now this may be true for some, but I thought I’d share my appreciation to a handful of local organisations/businesses that have made my business possible.

T.N. Crosby chemist - helped me grow my patient base and get my feet off the ground in Hawick.
Richardson & Son Printers - printing fantastic leaflets and business cards for the clinic.
Coffee End - giving me an amazing welcome to the community with cupcakes and coffee.
Wilson Signs - for creating and fitting our shop signage.
Crystal clear window cleaining services - gotta have shiny windows!
Geo & Jas Oliver W S - providing a lovely premise for the clinic.
Scottish Borders Council (local action group) - providing help, information and funding options to get started.
Aaron Redpath - Unsure on his business name but did some essential joinery work to fix our shop door.
Ross Gibson - Unsure on his business name but fitted new smoke detectors in the shop and made sure our electrical work was safe.

I just thought I’d share my appreciation to all the local places/people who have helped me in this journey.

Thanks to all!
