⚠️❄️Antifreeze toxicity in cats❄️⚠️

During the winter months cats often find their way into and underneath cars for shelter. Unfortunately this can lead to contact with antifreeze (Ethelene glycol) which is very toxic if ingested and can be fatal. It is vital to seek veterinary attention if you think that your cat is suffering with antifreeze toxicity. Early symptoms include nausea, lethargy, vomiting and a drunk or wobbly appearance. Symptoms can then progress into renal failure, seizures and difficulty breathing.

We are still looking for the owners of the little cat found up the Targets yesterday. She is very friendly so we are sure someone must be missing her.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to help her. She is now safe and warm with a full tummy

We have had a friendly young cat, female tortie cat handed in today, found near targets. Not microchipped. May have been outside for quite a while, given condition. Please phone the practice if you are missing your cat. If we can not trace an owner she will be heading to a local rescue.

🐾Patient Story- Happy & Bella and their legacy🐾

Happy was a much-loved member of his wonderful family and sadly became unwell in 2024. Happy's owners made sure he was as comfortable as possible in his final months - wanted wanted to carry on his legacy. 💗

In 2024 Bella, their other dog, fell pregnant with Happy's puppies and not too long later 7 puppies arrived - now proudly known as Junior, Happy, Grumpy, Princess, Fluffy, Stormy and Hannah! The family have decided to keep 5 of them! (Yes, it's a full Maltese herd now! 🥰).

The owners could not be happier and absolutely adore all of them. The puppies are now 9 months old and still regularly visit the practice to see vet Diana. 💗 We love watching them grow!
