My favourite plants in the garden at the moment… Daisies and forget-me-nots are blooming side by side, creating the sweetest patch of white and sky-blue in the garden.
In folklore, Daisies are sometimes called the “day’s eye” because they open with the sun and close at dusk. Some traditions say they sprang up as a comfort from the spirits of children, or that making daisy chains protects little ones from mischief.
And tucked among them, the delicate forget-me-nots whisper their own gentle reminder. Legend tells of a knight who, as he was swept away by a river, threw these tiny blue flowers to his beloved and called out, “Forget me not!” They’ve come to represent true love, faithfulness, and keeping cherished memories close to our hearts.
