Midwifery has been a huge part of my life, I love all things to do with pregnancy, birth and the 4th trimester. My biggest passion is educating and empowering woman and their families to help them achieve the best experience possible when it comes to birth and parenthood. I have had over 12 years of experience within the NHS as a midwife both within the hospital setting and in the community caring for many families. I trained with Katherine Graves Hypnobirthing in 2016 to enable me to provide this service to couples to help them achieve their best birth experience. I am also a mum of one, and my own birth experience did not happen as I had planned which led to postnatal depression and difficulties with breastfeeding. My own experience has fueled my passion further to support and guide couples on this precious journey through pregnancy, birth and parenthood to ensure you have the smoothest transition possible. Whilst working as a community midwife, I visited many babies struggling with discomfort and parents suffering from lack of sleep. These babies would be referred to the GP and diagnosed with colic or reflux, with the general advise that baby will eventually grow out of it, or be put on medication with no real answers. This just did not sit right with me and I felt as though my midwifery training had not prepared me for this. I felt nothing but despair and frustration at the end of the day not knowing how I could truly help these families. Then earlier this year I discovered Aine Homer AKA The Baby Reflux Lady. Aine has two daughters who suffered with reflux and got no answers from her GP and other specialists. Aine decided to research the subject extensively in order to help her daughters and is now THE expert in all things baby reflux related. I realised that this was the missing link I had been looking for, and so I trained with Aine Homer to become one of her Baby Reflux Ladies. I am now fully certified to help families find the root cause of their babies discomfort rather than treating or masking the symptom only. There are many causes of reflux in infants which can happen from birth or later on in infancy, so by having a one to one consultation I can help you to understand your babies discomfort and find solutions, helping you and your baby... well sleep like a baby!
