The Downes Care Home The Downes Care Home is a grade 2 listed historic building situated with 7 acres of grade 2 Registered Historic Gardens overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

The Downes offers the highest quality standard of care and accommodation in a welcoming, warm and friendly environment together with the freedom to live with as much independence as suits the individual ability and wishes. They welcome residents for short or long term stays. The safe and friendly environment encourages as much social interaction as the residents want, and the extensive accommodation and gardens provide opportunities for a wide range of activities all supported and encouraged by staff. Each individual room has its own bathroom, TV point, telephone point, 24 hour call bell. There are several communal rooms of different sizes offering the scope for residents to enjoy some space on their own or to mix easily with others. Throughout the building there are handrails where needed, lifts and hoists and all residents’ areas are wheelchair accessible.
