🩸Around 5 million adults aged 18–64 in the UK could be living with undiagnosed high blood pressure – a major risk factor for stroke, heart attack, kidney disease, and early death.

🩸Know your Numbers Week aims to reach those who have high blood pressure but are not aware, so that they can get the support they need to bring it under control.

🚨 National Emergency Alert Test – Sunday 7 Sept 🚨

At 3pm on 7th September 2025, mobile phones across the UK will receive a test Emergency Alert from the UK Government.

📱 Your phone will:

Vibrate

Emit a loud siren (even on silent)

Display a message confirming it’s just a test

This is the second national test of the Emergency Alerts system, designed to warn of life-threatening events like extreme weather.

✅ No action needed 📢 Public info campaign underway, including support for vulnerable groups 📄 Part of the new Resilience Action Plan to strengthen national preparedness

This year’s flu and COVID-19 vaccine eligibility has changed, so make sure you're up to date:

✅ Flu Vaccine – Now Automatically Eligible:

-Adults aged 65+ are eligible for a free NHS flu jab!
Also eligible:
• Children aged 2–16 • Pregnant women • People in clinical risk groups • Carers and frontline health/social care workers

✅ COVID-19 Autumn Booster:

-Adults aged 75+
-Residents in care homes for older adults
-Individuals aged 6 months+ who are immunosuppressed

📅 Clinic dates: Saturday 4th and 11th of October 8:30 am - 4:00pm
