Its been 2 years today since i had my bypass surgery been keeping my weight off and feeling great. One piece of advice i would like to give to anyone that is thinking of doing this surgery be careful some people when they are 320lbs get that way because they love food and use it to cope with life when they eat they feel better. Well when that goes away is natural to search for something else to fill that void. In my case it has been Alcohol ive been drinking so much more than i ever have in my life time. To the point that if I don't it bothers me. The strange thing is that it only bothers me at night wellb on this 2 year anniversary i have made a commitment to myself no more Alcohol Monday night was the last time I had a Titos(my drink of choice) Hansen had anything since. I plan on keeping it that way. To all the great people down at the Saddle up i will be back when i fell i can come in and enjoy and virgin ice tea. I hope people don't judge me or label me. I'm only writing this just in case someone else is thinking of getting a bypass if your aware of it before hand you can be ready for it. Well thanks for letting me ramble on. I think this is so important for people to know this. If you would like me come in and talk to people that just had surgery or are about to i would be happy too. Its been and really tough year and i don't even know if I've got it under control but I'm going in the right direction. In a brighter note other than the drinking my life is so much better since i lost all the weight i thank God every day that i took the step and meet you people of owe you my life
Is there a page for post-surgery support group? I'm looking for one for the PM team.

It's been a while since healthy recipes have been added to the site. It would be great to have these updated. Keep 'em coming! I'm working really hard to lose some weight to start off and I'm overwhelmed a little with "what to fix"... any ideas are welcome ones!

Tomorrow I turn 56 years old 6 months ago I took the biggest step in my life. I went to a meeting at Portsmouth regional hospital for info on a Gastic Bypass surgery . I had my first appointment to see if I qualified for the program. I did in almost every category o was 310lbs a dietabeic had high blood pressure the works. That day I started my journey and stayed getting ready for my chance to change my life. February 13 came it was my day to have surgery I was scared to death. After it was over I woke and said when are you going to start and they said your done. I was in some pain for a few hours but then I got out of bed and started walking and felt so much better. Went home the next day it's been 3 weeks since my surgery I've lost 34 lbs in 5 weeks 2 weeks before I was on a clear liquid diet. Since my surgery I am completely off all my diabetes medications and my blood pressure needs are cut in half. I was taking pain meds for my feet which I don't need anymore. I just want to thank everyone at New Hampshire Weight loss from the bottom of my heart for everything you have done for me and are going to do. Paul Capone
Started trying different things to eat today. Came up with a chili that was out of this world.
1lb ground Turkey
1- 16oz jar of Newmans own Salsa
1 - 16 oz can of reduced sodium kidney beans drained.
1 pkg of Ortega chili mix
1 1/2 cups of water.
Cook ground Turkey in some olive oil and minced garlic till brown drain.
Add salsa beans and chilli mix simmer for 9 mins and serve.
Easy and delicious
I blended and 1/2 cup for myself last night because it's still early just 2 weeks since surgery but it was fantastic.
Here baked egg rolls that are really good.
I’m interested in connecting with others struggling to get back on track. I am seeing the nutritionist June 7 and that all fine and good but it is only an appointment not an any hour of the day or night option for support. I don’t even mind posting my questions or struggles/victories on this page but I need to start some where.
Philly cheesesteak stuffed bell peppers
Cut peppers in half and bake for 30 minutes at 325 degrees.
In a skillet cook 1 large sliced onion and mushrooms until browned. Add in sirloin steak meat. Add in some Italian seasoning (to your taste). Cook that till done. Once peppers are done take them out of the oven. Put a slice of provolone cheese in each. Then scoop meat mixture on top. Top with another slice of cheese and broil in oven for 3-4 minutes.
