We were a little early for World Art Day, which is on April 15th, but residents enjoyed a creative session with Juliette from Love Art this morning 🎨🖌️🖼️
They all tried their hand at block printing and produced some beautiful greetings cards 🥰👏
This activity opened up some great conversations about past crafts they had enjoyed, with Lesley sharing about all the things she used to make from macrame 🥰

🌷 A Fresh Week of Smiles at Oakwood Court! 🌷

As we round off a lovely Easter period, we’re delighted to share what’s coming up this week with our new Activity Planner and Menu.

✨ What’s On This Week
We’re especially looking forward to Thursday! We’re excited to have Sarah the violinist joining us, bringing beautiful music to brighten the day. 🎻
We’ll also be welcoming Claire along with Millie the PAT dog for a special visit—always a lovely opportunity for companionship and smiles. 🐾
Across the week, there’ll be plenty to get involved in, from creative crafts to fun games and social activities, all designed to keep spirits high and residents engaged.

Our talented kitchen team will be serving up a range of a selection of fresh summer dishes, as we introduce our summer menu! ☀️☀️

This morning some of our residents joined in for a game of bingo 😀🎤. Looking for a full line then a full house, eyes 👀 down for your first number 🤩.

We then had a singalong which our residents always really enjoy 🎶🎙️David, Micheal and Janice really got into the swing of it 🥰.

This afternoon we played a game of The Odd One Out then hangman.

A jam packed day of activities 🙂.

We love celebrating everyone's birthdays at Oakwood Court and this afternoon we had the pleasure of hosting not one, but two, birthday parties! 🎉🎂🍾🎈

Our wonderful Elisabeth had a lovely time with her family this afternoon and they all enjoyed some delicious sandwiches and an amazing birthday cake made by Maria in the kitchen 🎂🥰

At the same time our amazing Jennie celebrated a very special milestone birthday with her family 🎉🎂🍾🎈 Some of the guests had travelled all the way from America for the occasion 🥰♥️
They also enjoyed afternoon tea, including a delicious chocolate birthday cake, another wonderful creation from our talented chef, Maria 😋🎂🥰

This morning a few residents joined in with our 'Making fudge in a bag' activity 🍫🍬🙂
They were great at measuring and weighing ⚖️ and then came the hard work of kneading the bags to form a ball of fudge 💪
The bags were then emptied onto greaseproof paper, the ball was flattened and chilled until set 😋🍫 We couldn't wait until it was fully set before trying it 😂 It was delicious 😋😄
Well done everyone 🥰

Today on this sunny day 🌞 here at Oakwood we played some ball game's. Which physically challenged our residents as they tried to get the ball 🏀 in the hoop.
We then had to throw the ball through 2 hoops which were held up. Then a game of catching and throwing. We had all worked up a swear after that 👏😉.

This afternoon residents engaged in some Puzzles, word searches and colouring. 🥰

After all the physical exercise this morning we swapped for mental stimulation this afternoon with a quiz for all levels...

What a glorious Monday morning to kick start our week at Oakwood Court ☀️😎
Residents were full of the joys of Spring with some enjoying a lovely walk around the grounds🥰☀️ Janice rescued a ladybird from the car park putting it on the grass 🐞🥰
Many joined in with a new gentle exercise session as well which they enjoyed.
The sunshine has certainly lifted spirits and brought a smile to our face 🥰☀️🌷😀

As we wrapped up the Easter celebrations, we reflected on a lovely Easter Sunday spent enjoying a traditional roast lamb dinner together 🐑.

This morning, we got creative in the kitchen making chocolate 🍫 🐰Easter nests. Mixing melted chocolate with cornflakes and topping them with mini eggs to create our little bird nest.😍

We also enjoyed Easter-themed word searches and crosswords, all while watching an Easter film 📽️ and, of course, tucking into plenty of Easter eggs!

Charlie and Jaison even had a go at juggling with the eggs - Jaison came out on top as Charlie kept dropping hers! 😂

What a lovely way to wrap up our Easter Monday! 🌼🐰🐣😍
