At Claimont Health Ltd, we're proud to support Mental Health Awareness Week, taking place next week (12th-18th May), and led by the Mental Health Foundation.

This year’s theme is Community, a reminder that safe, supportive connections are vital to our mental health and wellbeing. When we feel part of something bigger, we’re less likely to experience isolation, and more likely to find strength, purpose, and resilience.

This week marks Eating Disorders Awareness Week (EDAW), a crucial time to shine a light on a serious mental health issue that affects millions of people.

In the UK alone, at least 1.25 million people – that's 1 in 50 – are living with an eating disorder. This staggering statistic reminds us that many people are struggling in silence.

Eating disorders do not discriminate. They can impact anyone, no matter their age, gender, or background. This week is about raising awareness and fostering understanding.

Why is this important?
💡 Understanding: Many people don't recognise the signs of an eating disorder, leading to delayed help.
🤝 Breaking Stigma: We need to create a safe space for open conversations and reduce the stigma surrounding these conditions.
💙 Support: Knowing you're not alone is essential for those struggling and their families.

[Case Study] Building bridges to a better life: How Claimont Health helped a client transition from hospital to live independently within three months.

After being in hospital for some time, our client was looking for support to continue their treatment at home. There were significant challenges due to the client’s diagnosis for both mental health and physical complex care needs.

Claimont assessed the client and allocated a nurse and support worker to support them at home. The client and client’s family agreed care plans and was successfully discharged from hospital after shadowing within two weeks.

Claimont's team provided the client with live-in care for three months, providing a caring and personal service through a very emotional and stressful time. This included support with therapeutics, medication, daily living by helping with personal care, shopping, and attending appointments.

As the client regained their independence, Claimont's support reduced gradually allowing the client to work towards further independence.
