Yesterday we were on the receiving end of bereavement care as we laid our mum’s ashes with dad’s in Croydon Crematorium, 56 years to the day after they were separated by dad’s sudden death in 1969. We also visited our baby sister’s grave from 1966 for the very first time, having found out her details since Mum’s death in March. The biggest shame of that is that the grave was only a 6 minute drive from where we used to live in Chatham and mum never knew!
We were grateful to the crematorium staff at Croydon and the cemetery staff at Chatham who very kindly sprayed the grave number on the ground so we could find the plot. Both spots marked by a rose from our garden.
