Forsythia x intermedia
Forsythia at this time of year has the most glorious yellow flowers. It is a symbol of springtime due to its early, vibrant bloom, it often symbolizes anticipation, new beginnings, and prosperity. 🌼
Forsythia is not just a garden ornamental it has potential for medicinal use, especially as an anti-inflammatory for a wide range of ailments. 🌿

Mullein is truly a wild plant I took this photo yesterday basically it just gets on with growing! No interference from me 😊

Himalayan rock salt highly cleansing and removes negative energy with sprigs of rosemary fantastic healing herb and so versatile. Rosemary is a great protective herb. 🌿

I always manage to find some fungi! Cabbage parachute ‘Gymnopus brassicolens’ The cabbage parachute grows in wooded areas, but also in urban environments such as lawns and gardens. In woodland, this mushroom can be found in leaf litter and needle debris beneath trees, but in urban settings, it tends to grow on wood chips. 🍄‍🟫

Growing all over my garden is Tanacetum parthenium ‘Feverfew’ it is a common ornamental plant, in warmer weather has large flowers resembling daisies. Feverfew contains parthenolide known for its anti-inflammatory properties historically used for migraines, arthritis and fevers. 🌿

Thymus vulgaris ‘thyme plant’ 🪴 so useful to have! Thyme provides numerous health benefits. It is primarily used to treat colds, coughs, rhinitis, bronchitis and whooping cough. Known for its aromatic foliage and delicate flowers, thyme is also valued for its healing properties and use as a culinary herb. 🌿

Salvia Rosmarinus Prostrata Group 🌿
Couldn’t resist this Rosemary plant it is a trailing evergreen shrub with aromatic leaves and pretty blue flowers in spring and across the year. It is an essential culinary and medicinal herb, with an invigorating flavour. Use for all kinds of healing. 🌿

Long necklaces of Dioscorea communis ‘Black Bryony’ berries decorate the hedgerows at the moment I spotted the climbing plant whilst walking the dogs in Shipley, Bell lane. They may look tempting but all parts of the plant are poisonous, containing saponins and histamine, making them extreme irritants, too.
🌿Black Bryony emerges as a symbol of resilience and adaptability in the natural world.🌿

About me

Hello, My name is Rebecca. I have a passion for plants, love growing herbs and selling them on.

I’m gaining more experience maintaining gardens especially at Broomfield hall & Gardens where I’ve been volunteering and helping to renovate the gardens for the past 3 years. I have completed the RHS level 2 Certificate in Pratical Horticulture in 2018, and I am currently doing RHS level 3 in Practical Horticulture. Hopefully I can put all these skills to good use. One of my main aims in gardening is to be able to do heritage gardening maintaining historic gardens.
