If you’ve lost your mum and not relishing Mother’s Day fast approaching, this lovely concept may help.

A good friend of mine and local artist Mia Underwood (who did my wonderful window designs) recently designed a range of greeting cards for 'Miss You Mail'.

Miss You Mail cards are for those of us who have been bereaved. So you can choose to opt in and take part by writing their name and a message of love and remembrance.

See how it works below.

Cards are available now at missyoumail.co.uk.

When the world is like it is right now, it is easy to forget how much kindness you can find, day to day.

Today I conducted a funeral at the beautiful Clayton Wood Natural Burial Ground for a much loved Dad & Grandad with East Sussex Celebrant Services. The gentleman’s daughter gave me beautiful gifts and a card before we left White Feather, because she knew it was my birthday. On the day of her dad’s funeral, she had thought about someone else.❤️

And this is why I do this job. Not for the gifts! But for the lovely families that I support.

We had intended to bury the heartfelt tags you wrote for the White Feather memorial Christmas tree in January - but the weather prevented that until now. Too personal just to bin. Now all safely buried in the graveyard at White Chapel, Punnetts Town.

A question I get asked often is - what made you want to be a funeral director? It was to have a purpose, to be able help someone in need at a really challenging time for them.

Every single day, behind the door of a funeral home, truly beautiful & respectful moments play out, that demonstrate the power of remembrance. Most of these moments are private, unseen by anyone but the families we quietly serve.

We are just another set of people, like the doctors & nurses, the hospice workers and the carers, who want to walk alongside people when they are most in need of our support.

You won't look for a funeral director until you need one.

Discussing your loved one's life and your wants for the right kind of funeral for them, can be quite an intimate process. So it's important you can find a funeral director that supports you in the way you need.

It's worth asking friends & family who they would recommend; checking verified on-line reviews and whether the funeral director belongs to a trade association. Membership of a trade association means premises & procedures are independently inspected and the company have to adhere to a strict code of practice.

White Feather are a member of SAIF independent funeral directors

Memorial jewellery isn’t just for ladies. These lovely unisex pieces can be worn by anyone who wants to keep someone they love close to them.

Highly recommended local company Meadow memorials Jewellery based in Heathfield means you don’t have the worry of sending ashes off in the post.

Names, dates, fingerprints, and words of love deserve to be clear — now and always.

When I engrave a memorial piece, I am not just adding text or a fingerprint — I am preserving something deeply personal. A name that was spoken with love. A date that changed everything. A fingerprint that once held your hand.

Stainless steel allows me to engrave with exceptional clarity and depth. The surface is strong enough to hold fine detail, meaning every line remains sharp, readable, and true — not just now, but years from now.

The engraving won’t blur, wear thin, or fade with everyday life. The details stay exactly as they were intended, quietly and faithfully.

Because when something matters this much, it deserves to be made to last.
