🚫‼️ UKHSA Warns: Botulism From Unlicensed Botox 🚫‼️

You may have noticed a recent increase in press coverage around safety concerns in the aesthetics industry — especially following the recent report from the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) warning of the links between cases of Botulism and unlicenced Botox.

As you will know, I believe in transparency, evidence-based practice, and adhering to the highest clinical standards. I have written a short article that explores the UKHSA Public Health Alert, looks at why the risk persists, and what we can all do to optimise safety.

In short, the risks persist because of:

‼️ Regulatory gaps & unqualified practitioners
‼️ Fake or unlicensed products
‼️ Remote prescribing & insufficient consultation

How clients can protect themselves:

‼️Choose accredited practitioners (Save Face & JCCP)
‼️ Verify the product
‼️ Face to face consultation with a qualified prescriber
‼️ Check credentials & insurance
