The five ways to wellbeing model five areas we can try to do something in each day to help us feel connected to the world around us. As a therapist and a yoga teacher, I really feel how important this is to keep us happy and healthy 🌟
Here are some ideas for things you can try! Some are easier than others, see what works for you and how you're feeling today.
Give 🫴
Make someone a cup of tea, give someone a small but thoughtful gift, volunteer, use your skills to help someone
Connect 🫂
Text someone, meet up with a friend, make eye contact and really feel the other person 's presence when you're in a shop/getting on a bus, go to a group for something you enjoy, ask questions and really listen to the answer, try talking to someone new
Learn 💡
Read a book, enrol in a class, research something which interests you, ask someone questions about something you want to learn about, watch a documentary, learn a new word, do a crossword or sudoku
Take notice 🪷
Meditate, listen to birdsong, people watch from a cafe, journal, break your routine by going somewhere new, enjoy nature, get your toes into the grass, smell things you enjoy
Get active 🤸♀️
Get up and walk around every so often when you're at your desk, play a sport you enjoy, go for a walk in nature or a local park, take the stairs, walk or cycle rather than drive, try yoga
