Rebecca May Yoga

Rebecca May Yoga My intention is to create an inspiring and joyful place for students to reconnect with themselves and navigate presence and self awareness.

• Weekly yoga classes in the Hedge End area.• Private 1-1 yoga classes can be held in my studio or at your home, please contact me directly for further information. I have been practising yoga for 8 years, initially as a dancer I found yoga through my love of movement. It wasn’t until I began to learn the true meaning of the linage that I really fell in love with the practice and now allow these teachings to ripple through my life. I feel truly blessed to be able to share my passion as a teacher and feel much gratitude for the wonderful community it creates.

Evening routine ☁️

As soon as it gets dark - dim the lighting, lamps and candles on

6pm - take the girls up for bath and wind down - this is when I turn down my bedroom and lay out everything I need for my routine (setting the environment is KEY for implementing new habits, make it harder NOT to do it).

6:10pm - skincare and teeth while the girls are in the bath

6:30/7pm - stories and put the girls to bed

7/7:30pm - house reset + take magnesium

8:30pm - gentle yoga practice (I don’t do this every night, I wish I did. My sleep is always 10x better when I do, confirmed by )

9pm - 10 minute meditation with red light mask in bed

9:10pm - journaling - reflecting on the day and to-do list for tomorrow

9:20pm - read

9:30/10pm - sleep

This is just an example and was an indulgent routine where I got to do lots of the things that prepare me SO well for sleep. Sometimes it looks more like lying with Ophelia until 8:30pm getting into bed writing for 5 minutes, reading and going to sleep.

No matter what I’m doing or how late it is I ALWAYS do some form of mini nighttime routine because it really is something I cant live without now, perhaps I’ll share my very condensed version soon. Would that be helpful?

What are your non negotiables to wind down for sleep? ☁️

A dump of moments this week & screenshots 💌

This week has felt fuzzy. PMS - 1 me - 0.

Every moment is a chance to start again.

Let’s keep showing up for ourselves even in the tiniest ways, a deep breath, reading something affirming (like these quotes), getting steps in. Whatever it takes to get you there, you’re worth the effort ###x

We can’t wait to share this weekend with you.

Thank you for trusting us with your time 🤍

Mindfulness has become a bit of a cliché but it’s time we made it sexy again because it’s so incredibly beneficial.

I haven’t felt myself the last week (partly due to PMS but it’s no coincidence that life’s felt busy and my practice has slipped as a result). Sometimes I get a backwards kind of joy out of these moments because it reminds me how incredibly powerful these practices are, I really don’t take the feeling of being grounded for granted.

3 simple things, all free and only need about 10-30 minutes of your time, depending how much time you have.

SAVE this post, make this small commitment to yourself and observe the shifts you experience 💭

The wellness practices I will be FOREVER consistent with

1. Moments of peace and solitude (ideally in the morning).
2. Daily practice/movement of some kind.
3. SAD lamp in the darker months & natural sunlight as early as possible.
4. Meditation and breathwork - I will AWAYS prioritise calming and regulating my nervous system. This is so overlooked when it comes to our health.
5. Journaling. So amazing for self inquiry, clarity and mindset.
6. Spending time in nature and walking.
7. Saunas.
8. Nourishing my body with wholefoods and as minimally processed ingredients as possible.
9. Calm, reflective moments. Not always needing to fill the gaps.
10. Reading.

These are without doubt the things that have the most impact on how I feel. A lot of these things are free and you really don’t need hours to feel the benefits.

What things make you feel your best that you just know, no matter what, will never slip?

JOY ✨

1. Journaling while the sauna heats up - I’ve gone all in on journaling this month and have so much clarity as a result. Its also really helped me recognise the way I speak to myself, and rewire those patterns.
2. Puzzles every day with Fifi. The girls are growing up SO fast but this one always wants to be as close as physically possible to her mama and I adore it 🥰
3. Deliveroo to the girls house 🏡
4. Picnic and starting to decorate inside the girlys house. It’s the most wholesome thing watching them play in here.
5. Having a clear, calm and visually appealing work space makes me so focused 💭
6. Snuggles with my big girl 💕
7. LUCKY ✨
8. While I was teaching Tuesday, Tim went to check on the girls and Ophelia wasn’t in her bed, he looked in our room and the bathrooms (heart racing) before finding her here 🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹
9. My own laboratory, trying to make more time for new hobbies and creativity this year
10. Prioritising my peace ☁️
11. Tiny ballerina started new ballet lessons, so proud of her 🩰
12. On repeat 🍓🫐

Sharing some of the books on my ‘to read’ list for 2026. Some of these I already own but haven’t got round to reading yet, and some I’ve noted down when I’ve seen them highly recommended.

As always, this will be amongst a LOT of fiction because honestly, I find reading non fiction a lot harder. I read before bed and use reading as a tool for relaxation (I love a page turner) and with non fiction my brains switched on because I’m learning so I don’t get the same feeling of escapism.

That said, this is probably a rather ambitious list, but we’re aiming high in 2026.

SAVE to come back to when you need your next book recc 💭🤍
