I’m sure I’ve shared this story before but when it came to Easter, Mum would always ask if we wanted something ‘instead of an egg’. It always was a bit of a joke on poor Mum cause a firetrap denim jacket was absolutely NOT an egg equivalent. Over the years I did stop asking for ridiculous things and Mum would instead, choose something meaningful and thoughtful. On Wednesday morning I stepped out of the treatment room and into the conversation. Joining fellow beauty and wellness professionals at a workshop exploring standards, client experience, and the future of our sector. Always valuable to connect, reflect, and think bigger. 💛It was a true highlight to reconnect with .makeup.colour who not only trained me in makeup artistry 20 years ago but was such a valuable voice on the panel. We’ve kicked off the year with lots of training and upskilling. It keeps us fresh and inspired. Chantel, already amazing at pregnancy massage was wanting to add to her range techniques. Natalie, wanted to add pregnancy massage to her skill set and so a super training course was arranged. Firstly, who are the safe people?

These people will
Protect your privacy
They will listen and not judge
They have integrity

There is no power play
There is no gossip
You trust their judgement.

This might be one person.

Only safe people only get to comment, provide insight or help you discern the right path to take.

When we let others have power, that they have not earned, we subcontract out our worth, our instinct and our peace.

Perhaps their words have hurt. Their comment lives in your head, it upsets your sleep, it cuts you down and makes you feel less than.

Unsafe people need observed not absorbed.

Get back on solid ground. Go to where you feel safe. Where you feel most known and let your heart heal.

I do that with running, baked goods & coffee, reading, being with the safe people, talking, watching comfort tv (schitts creek/ER/West Wing) I put Dave Matthews Band on LOUD. I revisit the Celtic book of daily prayer (I say revisit cause it’s always used when I’m in crisis mode!)

I rediscover peace and I make a fresh pledge to protect it. These words may feel too much or too little but they came to me in a wave of reflection today. I hope they fit with someone in the way the fitted for me today. I send you love ❤️
