This powerful article by Magnit Global sheds light on the growing crisis of modern slavery in UK social care. Over 800 potential victims were identified in 2023 alone, many of them migrant workers brought in to plug staffing gaps — and left vulnerable to exploitation, coercion, and abuse.

Lewy Body Dementia Awareness

Visual hallucinations are one of the most misunderstood symptoms of Lewy Body Dementia.

Tech after 50? Challenge accepted — and conquered (mostly)!”

At Waverley Carers, we’ve been diving into new tech with curiosity, coffee, and the occasional “where’s the mute button?” moment.

Earlier this month, we attended the Care Inspectorate’s webinar on AI in social care — and it gave us plenty to reflect on. One key takeaway? AI is already speeding up manual, time-consuming tasks, giving us more time to spend with the people who matter most — those receiving care.

We might not have grown up with it, but we’re embracing it — because quality care evolves, and so do we.

You’re never too old to learn. And never too experienced to adapt.
