Park View, Helston

Park View, Helston Park View Helston is a community-based service for adults with a learning disability, supporting people to access their local community.

Park View has been established to provide a community based service for people with a learning disability, in Helston and the surrounding areas. We are based in a new community building on the site of the old cattle market adjacent to the park, boating lake and Penrose amenity area, which provides us with a wonderful outside space for our service users to enjoy. The building itself is eco friendly, bright and spacious. We aim to provide a ‘home from home’ atmosphere, from which people, assisted by our excellent staff, can be supported to pursue chosen activities and use local services and facilities. To see the latest activities that people have chosen to do please click on the link to our most recent newsletter. The staff would be pleased to show you around our lovely facility, please call in any time to meet the team (or to ensure we are in) … telephone Park View on 01209 615056.

We had so much fun on Tuesday, and the cats enjoyed their freedom, that we're going to do it all again tomorrow! Why not come along and do the trail on Halloween Day (it promises to be better weather too!).

Thank you to everyone who had a hand in making the "Dog" display, which I finally put out today to be enjoyed by the public. I've already had lots of positive comments about your work. So a big THANK YOU to Peter, Juliette, Laura, Davina and Tracy who worked so hard.

Thanks Sarah for coming up with such a great poster. Hopefully Wilbur and all of his friends will be found next Tuesday!

Laura worked very hard today with Becky to make her butterfly for our "Wild Art" in the wild flowers. On Tuesday we displayed our flowers made out of recycled bottles, today the real flowers were the inspiration for our upcycled pollinators.

If you have visited Coronation Park in Helston this week, you may have noticed some of our art installations as they've appeared, part of our Wild Art - One a Day project. On Monday our friendly tree by Lidl's bridge, then on Tuesday the flowers, and today .... the dabbling ducks! I wonder what our team of crafters - Davina, Juliette, Laura, Peter, Tracy, and everyone else who's lent a hand, will choose to put out tomorrow? We hope they make you smile. Charlotte.

Mullion Scarecrow Competition update: We didn't win the people's favourite, that was won by Peter Pan - so Congratulations to his creator's. I think that's Peter second in on the bottom row of the picture in this compilation. They are still counting the votes for the most recognisable as I make this post - I think its going to be tight!

This Bank Holiday weekend please look out for our entry in Mullion's Scarecrow Competition (entry number 12), located close to the Doctors' Surgery. Creating this character has kept everyone very busy over the last few weeks, many thanks to Julie (pictured below), Peter (who helped massively in the construction), Davina (great with the gluing), Laura, Tracy and everyone else who took part. A special thank you too to Ben and Cath who staged our entry earlier this evening - Looking GREAT!
